Time for These Players to Grow Up

I'm not gonna blame Fran. Or the rotation.

This is the same group that defended well most of last year. Now we aren't guarding anybody. We are reading Twitter and making posts on Twitter. WTF?

It is about effort and commitment. We have a winnable game Sunday that we need to win. At home. We need to defend and shut Purdue down. Hold them to under 60 points. If we do that, we win.

GROW UP HAWKS. AN NCAA BID IS THERE FOR THE TAKING

The players need to realize the ncaa tournament is slipping away. Do they care? If they do, they need to start showing it on the court.

OP it would be easy if it was strictly the players but it's not.

I do think Purdue is about to enter a hornets nest on Sunday and will get crushed.

Or, if they play tough and hang around they might come out on top...that's what scares me....I totally hear what you're saying....would not want to be Painter & Co....I just posted a picture of Leonidas in another thread, and we all know the story behind the 300 and what they did to armies they faced, but I also know the end of the story....God, I hope that doesn't happen on Sunday

This team could use Eric May. Really a great leader that was under appreciated until he's gone. He stepped up big time last season at the end of the year. He woulda never allowed this Social Media crap to happen.

I think the Hawks need to forget about the tournament and everything else completely and focus on the game at hand. I've noticed that we look our worst every night we have a chance to move up the standings. Michigan and MSU lose, we have a chance to move up a few days later...choke. Chance to seperate from Wiscy...Choke. OSU loses to PSU and a chance to jump them...Choke.

I think we had better success early on in the season because there was more basketball to be played and the focus was getting into to a position to make a post season run or a run at a conference title. Now I think we're too preoccupied with everything going on around us and the realization that the season is just about over and its costing us. Just my opinion but I think their over emphasizing the importance of each game at this point in the year and its causing them to tighten up, make stupid mistakes, and try to do to much. I think the pressure we're putting on ourselves based on things that cannot be controlled is coming back to haunt us. They need to step down a notch and reevaluate their expectations and goals to get their bearings straight.
