Tim Polasek

There is a reason he took the Iowa OL gig instead of staying at the OC position at NDSU. It was because it was a move up in the chain of his coaching career. P5 position coach >>> FSC OC or DC.

and being the OC at a FCS >>>> than having NONE what so ever and only reason BF was hired as one because he was daddy's boy!!!!!

Polasek made almost twice as much as the OLine coach at Iowa ($560k) than the head coach at NDSU last year ($300k). He would potentially be taking a pay cut to become the head coach at NDSU. I don't know about anyone else but taking a 15-20% paycut doesn't sound like a great way to move up in the world.

Klieman just signed a 6 year contract with a base salary of $2.3 million that will increase by $200,000 each year. So, sometimes, you take the paycut banking on yourself to do a good job so your next job pays you off.

Not to mention the OL job comes with a hell of a lot fewer headaches than a HC. Especially when you have one of the top S&C coaches building these guys up.

Scott Frost
Brian Ferentz
P.J. Fleck
Pat Fitzgerald

He'll go to NDSU, win, and replace Frost when he gets fired in 3 years and then kick the crap out of Iowa.
Frost will get more than 3 years. Heck, this year some were calling for him to be coach of the year, for going 4-8, including almost beating Iowa, which I guess has now become a moral victory for the Huskers.

They love him - short of staying at 4-8 over the next 3 years, which I don't see happening - he'll be at Nebraska for as long as he wants.

I totally agree...but I can hope, can't I? ;)

If he jumps at the job offer and takes a pay cut we kinda find out if he came to Iowa to be an assistant, not the next OC. If he's playing the long game he waits for Kirk to retire, Brian to be Head Coach, and he slides into the OC.

Take or leave him. I don’t care....there are plenty of coaches with no experience coach can hire to replace him.

Why wou;dmt he? He has reached his ceiling at Iowa. BF is not going to be our next HC . And that was the vision.

Good for him. Fly young man, fly.

Is Wyoming a better program than NDSU? If not (and I think not), seems like he took a step forward and now a step back. He certainly did with respect to pay.

Perhaps he felt as though he had nowhere to go at Iowa. But, if the Ascension of Brian Dream some have came to fruition, Tim would have been the leading candidate to be OC.

Strange move. But, I have not been impressed by the line play of late. New blood sounds good.

I thought 2020's OLine was the best we've seen in a long time. I'm wondering if he just had enough of working with bombastic brian and realized that KF isn't going anywhere for 5 years nor is brian. And maybe the racial bias issues were enough that told him its time to go. Or maybe he wanted to be OC again...somewhere.
