Tiger-Fowler pairing, who makes a statement???

God help us if Fowler is the future of the game. If he didn't dress like a DOT worker he wouldn't be noticed at all.

He may not be the future of the game, but I'd notice any 23 year old that can win on the Tour. He is really good. You don't have like 20 straight rounds under par without being a good golfer.

Fowler is in the mix for "next great player." The problem is that a lot of people are in the mix. Of the under-30 crowd, Hunter Mahan and Dustin Johnson are tops in tour wins with 5 apiece. Of the guys between 30 and 35, you have Zach Johnson (8), Adam Scott (8), Sergio (7) and Luke Donald (5).

Think about that. We've anointed so many guys under 35: McIlroy (3), Fowler (1), Bradley (2), Glover (3), Overton (0), Bubba (4), Webb Simpson (2), Watney (4), Kuchar (4), Kim (3), Day (1), Rose (4), Immelman (2), Bill Haas (4), Camilo (3), Charl (1) and McDowell (1).

NONE of these guys have over 5 tour wins. At age 23, Rickie could easily be one of the next great players. Not that I want him to be. I personally can't stand him.

He is good. I do admit. Just saying that I wouldn't call him "the future of the game."

Please, I hate Tiger because he is a ******. A great golfer but a ******. As for Lebron I don't hate the guy just think he needs to win a title before he is in the same list of all-time greats. And for what its worth he has "the decision" to blame for why most people hate him, not that he went to Miami but how he went about doing it.

I usually am with ya Hoffa, but I gotta rebut...

Do you know Tiger personally? I completely understand why you would find his actions disgusting...they were, and you are totally entitled to hate him.

Look, he messed up, BigTime. lost his marriage, many fans, some of his dignity, of course some $(which for him not really a huge deal), and his legacy is tarnished. He was embarrassed, then injured, then both....not good for a superstar who plays a game that is as much mental as physical. It was possible he might not be able to recover at all, DOZENS of great golfers have lost their game forever dealing with far less adversity.

In my opinion he's paid his price, maybe more than most would given the public scrutiny. I don't know the man personally, mabye he's a great guy who's a little cheap but fun to be around.....maybe he's an a$$ who is arrogant....maybe he's a former nerd who suddenly became the biggest sports star in the world, married a supermodel, and felt like he could do anything.....

What I know is I love to watch him play well and would love to see a showdown for the next 5-10 years with about 10 of the tops guys going at it.

But hey, you are allowed your opinion and digust of the man, it's fine and even understandable.
