Ticket prices for Hawk fans.

And nobodys forcing you to be charging twice what you paid for an Iowa ticket. Is that how you get your revenge shada? Making sure some people cant have enough money to get into games?

You're exactly right - neither party is being forced to do anything. However, in a free market, supply and demand set the price for good and services. If you don't like it, all you have to do is not participate.

Ohhhhh so now I should just stop being an Iowa fan because I cant afford what you think it cost?

Any Hawk season ticket holder has every right to charge whatever they feel appropriate.

Reason, most holders are required to make an extra donation on top of the season ticket amount. This little known fact among the general pop is one reason season ticket holders are allowed to charge whatever they want.

It might say $55 on the ticket, but in reality the ticket cost a large percentage more.

This is soo typical....erbody keeps bringing up those who have season tickets I CANT AFFORD THAT. Youre talking about a donation that your donation not mine so if your selling those tickets sell them at a fair price.

A lot of folks can't afford season tickets, myself included. It's a goal of mine, but one that I realistically won't be able to hit for at least another couple years. So for right now, a game or two a year is more likely (although not this year, new house and everything), and I go into said game knowing that in most years I'm going to pay more than face value for my seat, and I'm perfectly cool with that.

Season tickets are expensive. I usually give mine away to family and friends but I have sold for a bit extra to big games. I don't understand all the emotion on this. Buy the tickets you think are priced fairly and don't buy the others. Either way I hope everyone enjoys the season. Go Hawks.

Ohhh the Missouri St. game isnt going to be any fun. I would want to go to the Wisconsin or MSU game. The beer is mostly for the old lady as she hates football so Ill be the dd and keep her on the sauce so that enjoys her day and I dont get an ear full when we get home.

First off, beggars cant be choosers. You dont want to pay over face so you will have to be stuck with the Mizzou State or WMU games every year.

Second, you are pizzing and moaning about how much tickets cost yet are planning on bringing your wife, who hates football? That doesnt make sense. Go with a buddy and that would cut your ticket expense in half.

Third, I still think you are trolling.

Not sure if this where to post this, but I had a great marketing idea in light of the poor ticket sales:

Kirkwood Community College Night

Show your Kirkwood ID at the gate and get a free U of I replica ID card. Place would be PACKED.

Well I was just playing out this thread in case there is a game in where Iowa ticket prices are high this year. This thread usually happens every year but with a down year I just wanted to make sure that this discussion still happend this year. I have season tickets and a football weekend for me cost 500 to 1000 tickets are a very small part of the cost. I do enjoy it when others tell people what they should charge for things and wanted voice their side.
I dont ever sell my tickets I give them to family but I do like knowing that some games they could be sold for more than season tickets in clown town.

And a fair price is the price that was paid to purchase the ticket which includes the donation. Without the donation you cant purchase the season ticket does that help you understand why tickets are often priced where they are priced.

One question, why are you even attending a game? I know, so you can be that guy screaming and yelling at Kfed 63 rows deep.

So now youre going to talk down to me because I dont donate......they have enough money. If I pay to go to a game I get to yell at whoever I want.

I get what you're saying OoTH but if selling on Craig's List how do I know the purchaser will be an Iowa fan and not that of the rival team?

Should I list two prices? One for the fan of our beloved Hawks and one for everyone else? Do I put each potential purchaser through a Hawkeye litmus test prior to the final purchase?

Every year Hawk fans prey on other Hawk fans with ticket prices. I see no difference this year. Think about how much people are charging for night games. Its just sad.

Night games always draw big bucks, that will never change. You need to lower you expectation if you think you are going to pay face for Wisconsin, Michigan, ect......

Not sure what to say after reading this comment.....
