I just got a phone call from the guy in charge of the Hawkeye section and he said they had it all on the floor. I put a jersey on hold because he said supplies were limited for them. They have plenty of t-shirts and hats though. Just wanted to fill you guys in. Go Hawks!

SO, it actually did pay off for you to call them every other day, haha

If someone buys one, can you post a pic? I'd like to see what they look like.

Just got home from Scheel's. Here are some pics. The quality is not that great because they were taken with my phone. I decided not to get the jersey. For me the $60 price tag was too much for how simply the jersey actually is. The AVG fan would not even know it was an Iowa uniform.

The shirts on the other hand are pretty sweet. They are black, even though they may appear purple in the photo. Did anyone else know we were the "State University of Iowa" back in 1958? I sure did not. That is why it says "SUI" on the shirts. The shirts go for $18. I did not get a pic of the hats, but they are pretty sweet too.

I did notice the pic of the seating arrangement for the PSU game! I attached it below. It is on a HUGE sign right by the Iowa section in Scheel's. I LOVE this. Pimp it as many ways as we can possibly get this out!

SCORE!!!!!

Thanks, Hawkeyestate for providing the info.

I missed the t-shirts and hats....'course I only had tunnel vision for the jersey's and I dang near missed them. There are not very many...maybe 12-15, so if anyone in the Des Moines area wants one I suggest you get over there post haste.
I agree the $60 price tag is a little steep...but I'm a throwback guy. I don't care if anyone else knows they are Iowa jersey's....*I* know it.

No problem! I think they have more jerseys than that. They had boxes of merchandise to unload still. They just threw some on the rack there to make it available while they got the displays set up.

Wow, I didn't know that either! Thanks. :D

There are actually a handful of places on campus that still have some old SUI references. The floor at Jessup Hall, for example (through the main doors, which would be 2nd floor I think) has SUI tile things, if I remember correctly.

What did you think of the quality of the shirt itself? The black SUI shirts and the gold ANF shirts were cool looking but the material was really crappy quality (I think Jansport or something like that). I got a gray Nike one across the aisle with an old school looking Herky on it waving a Hawkeyes banner. For $4 or $5 more I feel like I got a much better quality of shirt.

Hope I'm not offending anyone

I agree with you. The Throwback Game shirts are Nike, but the material felt different than some of the other Nike stuff. I typically always buy the Nike stuff too for a bit more money because it lasts longer. I still wear shirts from the 2000-04-ish years that are Nike shirts. Faded a bit cuz I have worn the heck out of them, but still goin' strong!

The jersey is a decent item, but its not reproduced correctly(Nike or the U of I ?), as the stripes on the sleeves are incorrect. The middle one is to be bigger than the two outer ones. I wouldnt want to purchase an item that isnt correct.
