Three Tournament Champions For Big Ten?

Wouldn't it be something if the three post season tournaments ended up with a champ from the Big Ten?

Indiana, Michigan, OSU are not unreasonable picks to win the NCAA.

Iowa wins on Wednesday and they are in the Final Four of the NIT.

Purdue wins on Monday and they are in the Final Four of the CBI.

It could happen...

Purdue accepted a CBI bid?

I thought the Big Ten does not accept bids into the CBI/CIT? Didn't the B1G say Iowa could not accept a bid last year?

That was the scuttlebutt on here. Can understand why now. I didn't know Purdue was playing in this tourney and definitely have no idea of their round 2 opponent.

I know it would be best for Iowa for St. John's to win and get another home game. But it would be cool to go check out our new B1G partner before they make the announcement after the NCAA's.

Purdue vs Santa Clara on 3-25.

Hooray for being the champions of mediocrity!

Well...click on my link and take a look at a few of the past CBI champs.....Oregon, Pitts, VCU....all in the NCAA this year, two won 1st-round games.

Creighton and St. Louis were recent runners-up as well.

Seems to bode well for the future.

Who cares what tournament it is. Key thing is teams get extra playing time and development. Don't be butthurt.

Winning the CBI and the NIT aren't exactly big accomplishments to brag about. Hopefully a B1G team wins the tournament, having only 1 total the last 20 years is embarassing.

I'm happy Iowa is getting more postseason work however I know our place in the pecking order too. I'm not going to pretend we're badazzes just because we are making a run in the NIT.

Well, with only Maryland, UVA and Iowa on one side of the bracket, a B1G present or future team will be in the championship game.
