Three things that make Kf a good coach.

And those are the guys we landed, doesn't include the failed attempts. Kirk and co. have been unable to develop dual threat QBs, but it hasn't been due to a lack of trying.

So why is it that KF and co cant develop a dual threat QB but the BoneG and every other con is stacked with them?

Im just joking with you. I know Phil is really Kirks son.

1. His willingness to make personal sacrafices and work for a small compensation package
2. His ability to not get emotionally wrapped up in the game
3. The speed at which he makes adjustments to the program when things are not working

1. Gum-chewing.
2. Little pad of paper.
3. Golf pencil.

I haven't seen an appearance by the pad of paper all year. What gives? Has there just been so many mistakes made by the team that he just said, "Aww, the he!! with it, it's not worth it!"?

Maybe Kurt delegated that task to Bryan.

Those are some great programs that Iowa should copy.

Why Kirk has had problems will all of those schools. Like it or not but KF has a losing record to Ia State(which has been one of the worst football programs in the country). Northwestern has owned KF. As of late KF cant beat Minnesota(I think they lose to them again this year).

So say what you want about those programs but Iowa it at or below their level right now.

playing in a conference with the strength of the ACC helps him too. Luckily, Iowa doesn't have to play in the SEC, Pac 12 or Big 12.

You asked why Kirk hasn't recruited any dual threat QBs since Banks. I listed seven. If you don't want to accept reality, that is your problem.

Stanzi was not a dual threat quarterback. He was more of a Peyton Manning type who would use mobility to buy time in the pocket. He wasn't the kind of guy you line up and call a QB draw with.

Tate, McNutt, Nelson, Manson, and McCollum I'll give you. I don't necessarily count Derby, as I've never been sold that the coaches intended for him to play QB.

OP still stands true. Without a player who can single handedly take over games or a Norm Parker defense kirk is not a good coach. Give him a rb or qb that is unstoppable or a lock down smash mouth defense and it would look like kirk is a good coach. Without these things he is an O line coach that the state of Iowa pays a lot of money to.
