Thoughts to Ponder about KF-

He is truly one of the all time greats, and he is not done by a long shot. He will have many other great accomplishments before his career is over. Howard Jones had great teams in 21 and 22, I wish that the administration at the time would have taken the steps to make sure that he stayed for a long time too, as he was a great coach. Iowa football in the 1920s and 30s (assuming no slush fund scandal) would have been much different.

While true, the middle and bottom of the B1G is better and deeper than Hayden's days. It was the big 2 and little 8 for a very long time. You didn't really have to be great to be in the top 3-4 of the B1G, and the bottom 5 were pretty bad.
How can you begin to make that assertion. IU had some pretty good teams under Corso. Illinois had some great teams. Purdue won 28 games the first few years of HF coaching. MSU had bad and good teams. MN wasn't generally very good. Michigan was never as weak as they have been recently. NW was bad but were good in the 90s. Wisky was generally not very good.Tired of KF apologies.

Purdue, IU and IL most of the time have been terrible under the KF run. OSU is building a dynasty.

Ponder this. What happens to most teams when they lose scholarships? They struggle. NDSU has 22 less scholarships to give than KF. NDSU also has injuries. Saturday should not have happened.

Ponder this: NDSU's previous wins over FBS teams. Those teams averaged 5 wins per year including an 8-5 KS team that started 2-4 with wins over powerhouse Mass and Louisiana Lafayette.

Ponder this: Those average of 5 win teams (3 if you take out KState) owned 2 wins over....K State.

NDSU escaped in their first 2 FCS wins.

Kirk is Kirk.. he has done a lot for our program... BUT he has also been here for 17 years... Hayden made this as respectable program again... to think that no one could do what Kirk has done or better isn't logical.

I put Hayden ahead of Kirk for how he made us legitimate again... Kirk has rode those coattails and done a great job of carrying the torch. He deserves praise... but he also is missing something and he always has.

But hey I'll be fine if Kirk can prove me wrong.

I ponder how we did not play OSU and other good teams those two years.

In 2002, Iowa's best 2 conference opponents Michigan and Penn St finished 3rd and 4th behind Iowa OSU. Iowa played both on the road.

In 2015, Iowa played Wisconsin, NW, & Nebraska on the road. They finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the West.

KF has some faults but he earned that B1G championship in 2002 and the West division last year.

Lol,

I was talking to a coworker yesterday and we got talking sports and he asked who was my team and how they were doing. After I told him the Iowa Hawkeyes and who beat us last week he asked "Who beat you?" He then asked who the coach was and how long has he been there. I told him 17 years. He asked me how many national championships has he won?" "Gulp....... None." "WHAT!!!! Let me guess they don't want to pay their coach very well so they stick with the same guy?" "Gulp............. Well actually...........

Where do you work? Co-worker obviously doesn't pay any attention to college football.
