Thoughts for today's game

I would like to see Ingram log some legit minutes today. His PT has been so limited, it's hard to say what he can / can't do to help the team. The dude has a pretty stout build, a decent first step off the bounce and a willingness to attack the basket. Second, Olaseni needs to get on the court and work the nerves out. If he can't make strides in the remaining non conference schedule, he will ride the pine all season. From McCaffrey's presser, it's apparent he would like to play him more, but Olaseni hasn't done anything to earn more minutes. This will be a huge miss for McCaffrey, if the guy he has been touting as a significant contributor all summer turns into Archie 2.0.

I would agree on Ingram and hopefully he will get some more time especially if it's a blowout. As for Olaseni, you had to know he was going to be a project, especially with the lack of playing time last year on a team that didn't have a true center. It's going to take at least another year or so for him to develop into a quality B1G player.

I wouldn't say Olesani hasn't done anything. He hasnt been exactly where everyone hoped he would, but I think he has contributed more than just fouls. As for Ingram, I agree, would love to see him in there a bit more. He is going to be a solid contributor eventually.

Fran said Ingram is a player he would like to get more minutes in last presser. He'd also like to get Olaseni more minutes because he needs them, but he also said it's hard to keep playing him when he's not playing well enough. I suspect Ingram's minutes to start increasing, but unless Olaseni capitalizes on his opportunities, he'll continue to be used sparingly.

It is almost like these players are not playing because they're not as good as the other players...

Why do so many fans want to see more of the lesser players? I wanna see the good players.

The thought is Olaseni's nerves get the best of him so he needs more time on the court and Ingram is behind due to not coming this summer. So he can catch up faster by getting on the court. No idea if more play time would actually help them improve or not, but that's why some people are wanting to see more of them.

The issue with Gabe is simple. he brings it and goes toe to toe with Woodbury in practice, but when the lights go on? He freezes and struggles. The only cure for that is to build his confidence thru playing time. It's a catch 22.

Clemmons starting over McCabe, per Fran pre-game. Very aggressive to go so young and smaller against such a long team. I expect a short leash if he gets to impatient.

Just need Ingram and Meyer to step up and we can have our own fab 5.

This is not true. Who says this is true. There is NO WAY this is even a little true.

No. He struggles because he is not very talented. If he has a confidence problem, it is because he's not good.

Don't forget the "Ingram getting here late" part.

Gesell, Sapp, Marble, White and Woody are the starters today. Good to see White move back to the 4.

Clemmons looking aggressive so far and wouldn't you know, Woodbury picks up an early charge.

Ghost is correct! I can't wait for the excuses next year when Gabe does not play much. Fran is the one who hyped up Gabe so I guess from this point on we can not trust anything Fran says about players (not that I believed him about Gabe).

It makes zero sense that Gabe would be playing like Blake Griffin in practice and playing like Devon Archie in actual games.

Face it he is not that good of a player. His best case role is going to be a disruptive athlete defensively and a monster on the boards. He just is not that good of a player.
