Tennessee beat #1 Kansas using only six scholarship players including 3 walk-ons that played 45 minutes and minus their best player, Tyler Smith.

Iowa uses one walk-on for around 10 minutes a game and still has their best player, Matt Gatens, play 40 minutes and gets blown-out against teams.

Shows Bruce Pearl can even "recruit" top notch walk-ons as well as blue-chip players!

Tennessee has more talent obviously than Iowa but after all their dismissals including Smith they use more walk-ons than Iowa and less scholarship players as well. Yet they still beat the #1 team in the country! They are basically playing more short-handed than the Hawks.

Shows that team chemistry and talent are lacking big time right now for the Iowa basketball team.

Yep, I guess it is possible to compete and possibly win a game against a good team even after losing a bunch of players. Who would have thought. I guess that's the difference between having talent and a good coach, and not.

That said, KU almost lost at home against Cornell last week, so they appear to be very mortal..
