Those thinking CJ might not be ready...

Jake has a candy arm and everyone knows it. Especially jake and that is why he don't chuck downfield. Big brain and candy arm.

He'll be ready.

He is ready

I don't think that was a direct comparison between Beathard and Favre. But that throw was definitely something like Favre used to do all the time.

Yes, my comment was limited to that particular throw, BUT Homer makes some good points.

I remember back in the day watching a couple of games on TV when Favre played for S. Miss. He was exciting back then and you knew he had a bright future. He could make all the throws, had a gun ( that kind of immeasurable natural arm strength that so few quarterbacks seem to possess) and was a real improviser.

One of my main points was the type of quarterback CJB is/can be is coveted by coaches with an acumen for offense. EVEN WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES. The Mike Holmgrens of the world. The Lane Kiffins (notice I didn't say he had an acumen for being HC) of the world. The offensive coordinators of the Bears, the Lions, the 49ers, eventually the Browns, the Packers, the Broncos, etc., etc., etc. Would I put G. Davis in that category of having an offensive acumen? I think too many Iowa fans may have given him a short shrift.

The type of QB, the game manager, is coveted by coaches that don't want the offense to take any risks. That don't have an acumen for offense. Sidenote: heck, even KF tolerates mistakes...

I watched a clip on ESPN where Kiffin and Saban were arguing about something on the Alabama sideline. I'd guess it was about Alabama's offense taking too many chances. Remind you of someone?
