It was a cold day in those stands last year.

A long, crappy game made for a FREEZING day in those stands last year. First time I'd ever been to an Iowa football game where I was wishing it would end and I could go home. The crappy play didn't help, and neither did the freezing weather.

FWIW, I had a feeling from the very start of that game, after watching them warm up, that it would not be a good day. Something was off- and you could tell.

bullsh*t - The only player who showed any desire to win that game was DJK and yes I sat in row 1 behind the Iowa bench.

Why? Because after the whistle he attacked the Gopher defender on the sideline that tackled him and the coaches had to pull him back? He could have easily been flagged for an unsportsmanlike, and it would have cost his team.

Desire to win? Or self-centered, self-focused, and self-serving?

LOL - cost his team what? You do recall we lost that game in a completely lackluster effort to the worst team in the Big Ten with one of the worst defenses in all of CFB. I wish all the Iowa players on the field that day would have been playing with enough intensity that the coaches had to "pull them back".

The most obvious sign that the squad was demoralized and had mailed it in was demonstrated by how Iowa's DL absolutely got pushed around on the line of scrimmage. I can understand Weber passing the ball against us ... we could easily get picked apart against the short/mid-ranged passing game. However, there's no reason why Iowa's run D shouldn't have still been strong against Minny. A completely pathetic outing ....

I understand it ... but I don't condone it.

We ended up losing, so that makes it okay in hindsight to potentially stall the current drive you're on with a stupid 15 yard personal foul penalty? DJK displayed his lack of self control and lack of respect for the coaching staff and his team. I don't consider that heart, and I think it's extremely short-sighted for anyone to say that he was the only one who showed up to win.

OK, couldn't find the link (likely because they nuked it)...but our Goopher friends are struggling. Marquis Gray (supposedly Dennard Robinson lite) sucks. He was tossed out of practice yesterday after 5....yes 5... fumbled snaps in PRACTICE (to quote Allen Iverson..."We talkin' bout PRACICE"). The kid just doesn't have "it". As in...the inate abilty to play and lead a team sport.

Much as Jerry "bad teeth" Kill sounds solid. It would seem the Goophs still have some personnel issues. From what I'm reading/seeing/hearing...it's on a number of levels. Talent. Intelligence. and "football IQ"...not to mention basic physical ability.

We have heard this "sleeping giant ready to awake" nonsense with every hire these idiots have made in the last 50 years! Kill is so blanking gung-ho to be the head goofer, he hasn't even signed a contract yet! Can't blame him really....even after the goofers did give him a new set of choppers! Yup, his snuff chawing nubs have been replaced! What's next, a new mop for the old chrome dome?! Oh ya; the 2010 game, epic FLUKE, more or less! We came off Ohio State, they came off a bye. We heard for 3 years that the 55-0 drubbing was because of their gut wrenching loss to Wisconsin the week before. That doesn't work in in our case? We didn't have the week off before the 55-0 battering either!
