This will be a busy afternoon/night

KCJJ is the first media outlet 'on the record' that something is going down with Lickliter and his future at Iowa. So that process has begun. As posted on the boards, they are saying Lick will resign due to health reasons. If this happens, it was quite predictable and actually something that has been a part of speculation for weeks as a way for Todd to save some face and sort of have an 'honorable discharge' as someone posted earlier today in another thread. We shall see.

I will keep working the phones on several topics, and will likely be using twitter later this afternoon to communicate with you, as this is my daughter's 1st birthday and we are taking some family pictures and having some family time out late afternoon/early evening and I am not going to scrap those plans to sit in front of the computer. There will be plenty of time to talk about this tonight, and I put together a prospective list if this turns out to be true that I will share later tonight.

If it turns out to be bogus, then enjoy the night with your families ;)

Maybe your daughters first birthday will mark the change in Iowa basketball for years to come. Lets hope so

my daughter turns one next week, and ill always remember jon talking about stuff on the radio as we were going thru everything right around the same time...the year goes fast

Then throw in this; if this happens, my wife and I are scheduled for our honeymoon, 11 and a half years late, starting on March 26th in Sanibel Island, FL. I told her today that I may have to have a few 'office hours' on that trip.

Mary and Grace were both born in years Iowa went to the Orange Bowl...

I will add this, too...its days like today when I am reminded of how good it is to be a free site. I'll still put in the work and may not go to sleep before the 6am radio show, but I don't feel the obligation to drop my personal life to have 3000 words online by 6pm

Sanibel Island is really cool. We went to Naples for our Honeymoon and spent a day on Sanibel. There is a burger place there that was awesome. I can't remember the name off hand, kind of had a goofy name. If you like looking for sea shells (For the kids), it is one of the best places in the country for shells. You will enjoy it. Very relaxing area. The viaduct to get there is also pretty cool.

Ah take in the moment. These are both few and far between. Things unfortunately couldn't be any worse for Iowa Basketball. If this comes to fruition. I am saddened for Todd and the lack success and hope he recovers. But Hawkeyenation must move on without him. Go Hawks! And happy birthday to your daughter.

Jon - if you go to Sanibel, you guys MUST eat at The Island Cow. Gator tail to DIE for. I live in Tampa, FL and went down to Sanibel for Memorial Day a few days back and we ate there. OMG!!!

Island Cow! That's the place. Good call. It's a must Jon. We were down there in Sept. 08.

Jon - if you go to Sanibel, !

Oh, we're going for sure. We had this trip planned for late November of 2008...then we found a house we really liked in late October, and canceled the trip and moved in in late November instead. My wife would shoot me if I told her we had to postpone this again...its gotten her through this winter, thinking about it

The number one reason I left the newspaper business. Good call Jon. Enjoy the birthday party and give her a big hug from all your supporters at Hawkeyenation.
