This time of year, the season, is great...

September has that heat and it brings on the newness and uncertainty of college football. You don't quite know what to expect especially from your favorite team. Then October arrives and you have a feel for your team. You might feel out of it or like this year you might feel in great position with your team. And now it is November and it has always seemed like this is the time of year when most of the big, really big games are played. There have been a lot of big games in October but now is the time.

I expect a big win from the hawks on saturday and a closer win at Nebby to finish the year at an astonisging 12-0. But Mich-Iowa in 1985, Mich St-IA in 1985, 1981 Iowa at Mich and Purdue at Iowa to break the long losing streak against Purdue are a couple of examples.

Tell me about the big Iowa football moments you remember in November or October?

2008 it was frigid and Shonn greene destroyed Purdue, oddly enough I think it was senior day as well.

Wisky 2004 when we won the Big Ten. I had to go to the game alone because my usual partner in crime was on a business trip. I remember standing there in the cold and snow (if I remember right) and thinking it was perfect.

I'm not sure if that 2009 Michigan night game was in October or November but that ranks right up there too. It seemed like everyone in the stadium figured out we had a special team that night.

November 23rd, 1985, we were at home against Minnesota, and beat the crap out of them 31-9, went to the Rose Bowl, everyone was running around w/roses in their hands, in their mouths, it was crazy, went downtown to the Airliner (I think), and Dan Gable was completely trashed, dancing w/everyone, exciting year for Iowa (oh, and we hammered ISU 57-3, in Ames that year)....I had been married a little over a year and my wife had never been to Kinnick....we've gone back ever since, she insists......:)
