this team is deeper than any i can remember

They both played lazy today. Especially Josh. In the second half Basabe looked like he didn't know that the Hawks were only in the bonus and made no effort to fight for the board.

Oh and btw guy I'm only saying what a ton of other people are saying around the league and the media

But please enlighten me with the last Iowa team that was this deep.

I want to hear it from your vast historical knowledge.

Don't mind him, he's been inserting small amounts of glass shards up his bum all day. He's working himself into quite the tizzy.

Disagree on Josh, not sure why you thought he played lazy...he did dribble too much, but nobody was coming to the ball either. He was 2/4 from 3-pt land, it is what Iowa needs him to do. He didn't get embarrassed on defense either, so kind of puzzled.

Basabe has only played well against teams that have big men larger than playing him, against OSU his freshman year, has struggled to score against teams like Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin, what he has done against those teams when Iowa has won, rebound tough. Lets face it, Basabe has limited post moves, but he is developing that jump shot, so if he can run the floor, play defense (contest/block shots) and rebound tough there really can't be much more expected of him.

Basabe didn't put up any numbers but knocked down a huge jumper, had a couple of great rebounds/tips and played hard/ STop with the BS he doesn't play hard.

If JO hits 50% from 3's this year with a decent floor game(s) Iowa will win another 12 to 15 games this year. Mark my words.

The thing I love about this team is that whoever gets in the game hardly ever really screws up. Every one seems to do some good things. We had players coming off the bench in past years and you just cringed when you saw them at the scorer's table.

the best thing is Woodbury, Clemmons and White hasd very bad games point wise and yet they still won
this may end up being Marbles coming out party.
this is something I hope he does in BT play

if 9-9 your mark for the conference season, you don't have depth

depth = a quantity of quality

fran is a year away from that

Were really not that deep. May played his best game in years. McCabe played one of his better games of the year as well. I dont anticipate these 2 to put up these types of performamces on a nightly basis.

There have been many games earlier in the year that opponents have closed the gap on our leads when we took our starters out.

All depends on how you look at being deep. I wouldn't say this team is very deep. We will be next year when we bring in 2 guys that will play right away and lose 1 guy that plays sparingly. We have 2 pgs but Gesell better at the 2 spot. Right now we have 3 people that can play the 2 spot but Marble needs to be at the 3 and Ogelsby is dependent completely on hitting the 3. The 3 spot is really just 1 guy with May giving Marble rest here and there. The 4 spot has 2 guys with McCabe playing the 5 more leaving White and Basabe. Woodbury is really only backed up by McCabe as Olaseni isn't good enough yet.

2012-2013

pg - Clemmons (Gesell & Marble plays other positions primarily right now)
sg - Gesell (Ogelsby plays sparingly and Marble plays the 3 primarily)
sf - Marble (May plays sparingly)
pf - White (Basabe gives good depth here and McCabe plays 4 & 5 spot)
c - Woodbury (McCabe gives ok depth as he can hold his own against some teams).

2013-2014

pg - Clemmons (Gesell & Marble will have better depth at other positions to spell Clemmons more if needed).
sg - Gesell (Marble won't have to back up unless necessary with Jok and Ogelsby, maybe Ingram will be better to give even more depth)
sf - Marble (Uthoff will give a similar player with more height. Jok could also help out)
pf - White (Basabe and McCabe or Meyer gives multiple options)
c - Woodbury (McCabe is ok and Meyer or Olaseni can hopefully step up)

Iowa actually had 10 players averaging double figure minutes last year through 11 games vs nine thru 11 this year.
