This Site is getting really annoying...

I know I am supposed to pose this question/concern on a different forum, but since I can never get a response on that one, I will post this here and see if any of my fellow posters can help me. So, please accept my apologies.

1. On Explorer, the only way I can log in personally these days is to use a long drawn out address that takes me to the "editprofile" spot. Then, when I do get there, I cannot highlight my own user name to get to my profile...is just simply does not work. (I can transfer over to the message board and participate)

2. Also on Explorer, when I log on to hawkeyenation in general, the only thing that lights up is the "register" button, never does the "login" button highlight and allow access.

3. I also use google chrome and essentially run into the same issues.

4. I have been using this site for quite a long time and this problem just presented itself within the last couple of weeks.

5. Like many others have mentioned, virus's and very slow loading even between messages are a common problem.

I have a perfectly good computer, a very good anti virus and anti malware program(s), and I do not run into problems with any other site that I visit regularly, from news, to sports, to newspapers, etc.

What would you suggest? Again, sorry to have bothered you with this, but I am just plain frustrated and would like to be able to use this site in the future.

BTW, the join date of Jan. 2015 is completely wrong.

Not sure how much of this I should omit so I didn't. You have to figure It out. I had the same problem. Here's how I solved it: if you wish to post in a thread, click on the button that quotes a post . There, you'll be able to login and post. I guess if yo want to post w/o a reply quote, erase the quote.
 
Maybe if you didn't clear your cache and history bc of all the naughty sites, your "stay logged in" option would work. Problem solved. ;-)

I have issues when typing my text. Most all of the time, I have to repeat click a key multiple times for that particular key to be recorded on the screen as text. It can sometimes take so long to type of couple of sentences that it becomes not worth the trouble.

I had many of the same problems using Microsoft 8 & Internet Explorer. I installed Mozilla Firefox & removed Internet Explorer from my computer. Haven't had any problems since.

I wanted to log in this a.m. so I used your post to achieve that purpose. Thanks! I may try getting rid of Explorer as well; I think I read where microsoft is discontinuing it soon, though they will replace it with a new program. My son uses Firefox so I will talk with him about his experiences.
 
Maybe half the time I'm on the site, the Reply box is greyed out and won't let me type anything. Reply, quick reply, previews and quotes, all broken. Very annoying.

Never a problem logging in or staying logged in, though.

I use current Chrome on Windows 7.

Pretty sure it's the message board server, not browser-specific, and that Jon's aware of it and has been trying to get his provider to fix for some time.

EDIT: meant to add that the problem occurs with equal frequency on two different home computers and my work computer. So it's not computer-specific either.

Are any of you guys with data phones having any problems with getting disconnected from the website and having it reload? I've been getting this for about two to three weeks now. I will be making a post and the website stops working and then reconnects. I use safari and it was doing it on my IPhone 5 and last week I got the bigger IPhone 6S and it still does it from time to time. Only on this site and no other sites that I use. I hope Greg Davis is not running the site...... Sorry Jon couldn't resist.

there was something up with the front page today...I also sent on a note about these issues for folks to look at this thread. thanks
 
I have also run into an issue with IE recently where typing in the reply area almost becomes unbearable, you almost have to type in slow motion or half of the characters don't show up.

There it goes again....... Do notice it seems like Auto-Save kicks in about this time..
 
I keep having adds pop up and i have to hit the back button about 100 times to get back to the forum. Then i have to refind the page i was on only to have it happen again
 
Since this site is operated gratis I try not to criticize. The problem I have has to do with the password synchronization between the V Bulletin application (forums) and the Word Press portion. You login under Word Press and then the forums are run by V-Bulletin Board. If I take my time responding or posting I end up having to login again through V Bulletin board to get my post to accept. I did some research on this issue and found it is a problem that is not only here.
