This season ticket holder is probably gone

I waited a day to write this so as to avoid it being too in the moment, but I think Iowa football may have lost me and my four seats after that loss. It was my tipping point I think. While I have been upset at times over the past few seasons, apathy has set in now. I'm tired and do not wish to invest any more emotional energy in this program. I've sat through the Wisconsin fake punt game, the close calls against highly inferior directional schools, the Central Michigan fiasco, the Penn State embarrassment, and now our 2 game home losing streak to the MAC. I don't know if our program has hit bottom, but I certainly have.

i really haven't enjoyed an Iowa football game (or at least the hours following it) since the 2009 season, and that is sad. Given the resources and the success of that season, the only explanation for the highly inferior product is gross mis-management, possibly due to resting on his laurels. We should not be a coin flip with MAC schools....ever! While I saw some good things yesterday, the loss indicates we are still soooooo far away from where our bottom should be. If Iowa football was a stock, we just hit a new low yesterday, and maybe it is time I take emotion out of it and dump it so I can invest in a company with competent management. So season basketball tickets it is, and Ferentz can go scratch.

Wait for it...

I have to disagree with you about the timing of your disappointment in the team. We were in good shape and looked good going into the Wisky game in 2010 so I can't understand how you have been disappointed since the end of 2009.

But I agree with you overall. It is getting hard to donate money and pay $700+ for two season tickets to watch us give away games. I couldnt believe some of the blown pass coverage we had and still getting caught with Lbkers on fast running backs and slot receivers.

I can't believe some of second half play calls and how we shot ourselves in the foot in the 1st qtr to fall behind 10-0.

If kirksey doesnt force the fumble and return it for a TD we might have lost by 17.

but after buying season tickets for most of 35 years and 28 years straight, and being 61, it might be easier to stay home and watch the game, save the $25 in gas (nearly $200) a season, and watch at home.

Hell you could buy a ticket for $10 outside of kinnick yesterday, why donate.

Since we're sharing things nobody cares about, I'm gonna keep mine. K? K.

I am not gonna tell anyone to renew or cancel their season tickets. But it's very evident if you renew your season tickets that you are enabling the athletic department and big donors to do nothing about kf.

kf has allowed this program to fall enough as to where some of the fan base is apathetic. If this team doesn't go to a bowl this season, and it seems very probable they won't, more fans will have become apathetic. This is very critical because nothing is worse for a football program than for its fans to have gotten to the apathetic phase.

hang onto 'em bro - you can prolly get your nut back when other teams (like NE, OSU, ISU, and Mn) come looking for tix. they want to see their teams win too

I pay over $6000/year for my golf club membership, cause I love golf...I feel its worth it...if it was always predicated on great performance... I would be greatly disappointed and I would consider it a huge waste of money. That said I totally understand someone not wanting to shell out big $ for something they don't feel is worth it and is causing more anger/disappointment than joy/pleasure.

I'm sure many will forgoe there season tickets if bad losses continue...its understandable.

So basically, your golf club gives you consistently poor service and quality for your 6K a year, yet you continue to blindly fork over the money without any hesitation? You sound kind of........dumb.

Not even close to the same thing, but ok.

Does everyone that commented have season tickets? It would be interesting to see of who commented, who actually has season tickets.

I do. Been in my family for over 40 years, and I will never give them up. Ever. And that's why Captain Loser will go on destroying this program for years to come. We are the Cubs.

I have tix, but after yesterday my 4 seats might be empty the rest of the year. 3 hour one way trip is tough to justify to watch this.

I have season tix and have for 10 years plus two years in college.
I am really on the fence with keeping them. Love tailgating and hanging out with friends and family. Still enjoy going into the games and the game atmosphere. But I have just become so apathetic to the team. I dont care anymore and actually really laugh about it.
I dont want to give up the tix but really I feel like I am supporting KF and the direction he has the program going. Its not an enjoyable situation from a football perspective.

Iowa went 6-1 at home in 2011. If you are one of those people who can't find joy in a 6-1 home slate because you're too busy complaining about the coaching, then you should probably stay home. Good luck with whatever choice you make in the Spring.

If you thoroughly enjoyed the 2011 season then you're an idiot.

I think I will continue my streak of 39 consecutive home games attended in a row. It is easy to be a fan when things are going good , but hard when they are not. Shows real character.

Says the committed lifelong diehard that has been attending games for what, 6 years now? N00b.
