This new hire needs to be fast.

Needs to be done before spring. I wonder if they will have to post the job again? That would mean a delay of at least two weeks if I understand the rules right. Other than Campbell, no one jumps out to me on who would be the natural successor, but you have to think this wasn't just out of the blue. Philbin was hired two weeks ago, and I just find it hard to believe that KOK was approached after Wednesday.

You guys remember the last time we lost a coordinator, right? Kirk doesn't really move too quickly on these things. Much like we all thought he needed to seal the deal on the DC because of recruiting, he was more concerned about getting the right guy. I think the same thing applies to spring practice.

On the bright side, it will give us something to post about for the next few months.

The players have to be able to get used to the playbook in spring, they need one by then.

This hire needs to be right. Who cares how fast? It appears that the staff will really be shuffled so let the chips fall in place.

Well if the DC turns out to be Herman, then there was a perfectly logical explanation for why it took so long: the Giants were in the playoff hunt, and haven't stopped winning since. I think he's probably the guy.

With the OC, there's no apparent restriction like that to slow down the process. Remember, the DC announcement kept getting pushed back, coincidentally as the Giants kept winning. The OC opening will be taken care of in relatively short order, IMO.

Why would the new OC need to be fast? What we talking 4.45ish? Gotta remember with the hiring requirements he will likely be older, I think 5.5 is more than exceptable.

Does anyone think that there is a chance jay Novell is a candidate? He interviewed at Wisconsin, think KF would take someone who would open things up a bit?
