Needs to be done before spring. I wonder if they will have to post the job again? That would mean a delay of at least two weeks if I understand the rules right. Other than Campbell, no one jumps out to me on who would be the natural successor, but you have to think this wasn't just out of the blue. Philbin was hired two weeks ago, and I just find it hard to believe that KOK was approached after Wednesday.

Much like we all thought he needed to seal the deal on the DC because of recruiting, he was more concerned about getting the right guy. I think the same thing applies to spring practice.

Well if the DC turns out to be Herman, then there was a perfectly logical explanation for why it took so long: the Giants were in the playoff hunt, and haven't stopped winning since. I think he's probably the guy.

With the OC, there's no apparent restriction like that to slow down the process. Remember, the DC announcement kept getting pushed back, coincidentally as the Giants kept winning. The OC opening will be taken care of in relatively short order, IMO.

My guess is that the playbook isn't going to look much different.
