This loss will not be on the defense

Shitty game for KF and BF so far, but what plays do you call when your interior line is either getting whipped or going the wrong direction every other play? Polasek needs to be the first to go, because our interior OL has not been on the same page as the rest of the O since he's gotten here.

For those of you that fetishize firing KF, it ain't happening, get over it. I came to that realization a long time ago and gave been much more relaxed watching the games.

Plus, do you really want GB hiring his replacement? The guy couldn't pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel.

You have that right. We need an OC like they have at Oklahoma
Eh. A) we're never gonna get the athletes to run that B) if you think our O is bad now, watch us try to transition to something that is a completely opposite scheme. It'd take a few years at the minimum C) Lincoln Riley calls those plays, not the OC.

So the offense is to blame, not the defense? Where have we heard this before?

We've seen this movie before, and we see it again, and again, and again, and again. Year after year.

I'm sick to death of it.

Same song, upteenth verse. It’s not getting old. It is old, like stinky cheese.

Landon Paulsen was pathetic on the o-line for the second week in a row. He needs to lose that starting job. He cannot block anybody. Time to start Cody Ince in there going forward. He may not be any better right now, but he might as well get the minutes to build experience. When one guy isn’t doing his job, it puts pressure on the rest of the line. It makes it difficult for the rest of the guys to take on multiple blockers. Again Stanley was under pressure for most of the game. Paulsen cannot run block or pass protect. Give someone else a shot at the starting spot. Justin Britt would be another good candidate. I’d be in favor of burning his redshirt.

I have him down as the cause of at least 4 drive-killing, disastrous plays. He was either looking or going the wrong way all night.

With Banwart out for the season and Schott currently out for an undetermined length of time, our offensive line is in trouble. The Paulsen twins were supposably 4 stars coming outta high school depending which lists you subscribe to, to me, is kinda unbelievable since neither has gotten any significant snaps until their 5th year of eligibility. Maybe they just never took the game very seriously and just liked to clown around their entire college careers. We can beat some of the lesser teams in the Big Ten the rest of the way out, but we will end up losing to the better defensive teams from here on out. Let’s give the younger guys some playing time so we can at least be a little deeper and experienced next year. We are most likely gonna lose Wirfs and Jackson next year so we need to start looking ahead. I can’t put a lot of blame on the staff or offense at this time because they are trying to find a solution. They are rolling Stanley out of the pocket because we can’t get any pass protection. And if these guys can’t pass protect, they sure as hell won’t be able to run block either. It may not be pretty, but we need to get these younger guys some playing time and pull some redshirts off if need be, so at least we have a chance next year.

I started another thread on this but it’s time to move Alaric Jackson inside to guard. Kallenberger has proven he can play at tackle.

Pretty sure the Paulson’s were mid 3*, but had the typical background Iowa usually turns into solid O lineman by the time guys are upperclassmen. Think they were solid-good wrestlers in HS. Just never developed.

Woodbury central wasn’t even good when they were there. Not very athletic , slow feet just bigger than everyone else .
