This loss is a program sustainer

Jon spoke a bit about Wisconsin in his podcast. They have taken full advantage of high expectations to advance their brand. When they had opportunities to raise their program they have. They've embraced high expectations & delivered. As has MSU.

Iowa has not. That is the major difference between the programs.

^^^^^^^^^ THIS SAYS IT ALL ^^^^^^^^

Could be worse though, we could be Iowa State fans. o_O

I wonder if Jon pulled that off his forums? Not that it matters one way or the other but us rank amateurs have been mentioning that all day today.

Barry Alvarez built that Wisky program and unlike Evy isn't interested in watching them slide back to joke status. MSU also doesn't want to be referred to as lil brother so Dantonio will keep them sharp.

Kirk has a great situation with Iowa State being turd-central. If they were good he would feel some competitive heat. Since they suck he can always point to them and say, "At least we aren't them." At least Kirk has stopped saying, "The Cyclones are just another game. Nothing to get emotional about." God I hated that approach.

Nebraska has players that want to win, Armstrong sucks but he put the team on his back and found a way to beat a decent FBS team same can't be said for our QB. 150 yards passing against one of the worst defenses in football doesn't cut it. We will always be like Minnesota

Fans get real stupid, real fast. Bad loss yes. Minnesota? Get a clue. Iowa has 4-5 top ten finishes, 2 Orange Bowls, and a Rose Bowl in the last 15 years. Bowl wins over LSU, Florida, South Carolina, etc. You have to go back 50 years to find success from the Gopher program, Not a big Ferentz fan at all but he has presided over quite a bit of success in the program.

It confirms that some fans make ridiculously broad judgements based on one game. This was just a fluke, and not represent this program overall. If these teams play 10 times chances are Iowa wins 9 of them. The phantom holding call likely cost Iowa a touchdown. Things like the bad snap on the critical 3rd and 3 are so rare for this program too. That would have probably had lead to points also. This game would have been over. I also rewatched the long qb run on the last ndsu drive there Jewel was being held, it was an obvious missed call. They got all the lucky breaks and all the calls in this one, it's an obvious fluke. Next week Iowa gets thier interior offensive line starters back and win!

This is probably a real good synopsis of what went down. Let's see what happens if the OFF line gets healthy and the Dee Line starts getting their pads lower. I was in the stadium but a few friends and family watching on tv said the same thing about NDSU doing a fair amount of holding. And wow did we not handle their blitz.
