This just became a hollow season...but can still be decent win wise historically.

Man looking at the Big Ten West....trying to figure out who will be the representative. As crazy as it sounds, Iowa is still not completely eliminated. Just need Wisconsin, Purdue, and Northwestern to lose twice (and we can hand NU one of those).

My best guess:
Wisconsin will lose to Penn St and Purdue, beat minny, finishes 5-4 (owns tie breaker over Iowa)
Purdue wins out and beats minny, Indiana, and Wisconsin finishes 7-2 (owns tie breakers over iowa, Wisconsin)
Northwestern loses to Iowa, beats minny and Illinois, finishes 7-2 (owns tie breakers, over Purdue, and Wisconsin)

Iowa.....give them the benefit of the doubt....LOL....wins out and beats Northwestern, Illinois, and Nebraska to finish 6-3 in conference. And, the big kick in the nuts, if Iowa would have beat Purdue today they would have been in Indy, or did not give the Wisconsin and Penn St games away...…..

Therefore, Northwestern wins the West Title...….puke
Stop the madness now! Just stop.

For all intents and purposes this season is done. So much to play for three weeks ago. All gone now.

Fully expect to see uninspired play the rest of the way. Two more losses. Maybe three. Rumors of discord in the locker room, players thinking of transferring.

We’re done.

I'm gonna wait til the season plays out. I never expected us to even be close to winning the west, so this is no surprise to me. If we finish 7-5 the season sucked. If we finish 9-3, that is pretty good even if some around here can't see that.

9-3

That's what I predicted at the beginning of year and I am sticking to it. The season didn't play out the way I thought so it would it be a lucky guess on my part if it plays out that way.

I agree with some on her after watching NEB and NW.I believe we will not beat them. TV announcers had it right on when they said Iowa is a good place to coach because fans are happy with 7-8 game seasons. I never believed that but am now thinking they are right. We have a weak cornerback and have horrible time with spread O.

This is accurate. The season is over and we already have a bowl. No New Years bowl, no BIG championship. 6-6 and an ugly ugly end of the season.

If Hock & Fant both declare for the draft, our offense is gonna have a tough time next year. Losing 2 stud TEs along with a starting center, LG, RG, and WR is a lot to overcome. It'll give Brian and his groupies a whole new set of excuses though.

I'm confused because I thought the offense scored 36 yesterday. Based on historical numbers...that wins over 99% of Iowa games. The offense wasn't the problem yesterday. Phil Parker was the problem...our pass rush was the problem...and leaving our freshmen corners on an island all day was the problem.

LOL...that's funny. Wait, you mean that as a joke right? You believe Parker Hesse and these players have no heart. I think you are completely wrong. This team believes in itself...they have just come up short the past two weeks...but it's not like anyone has physically dominated them. They have beat themselves. They know it. I don't believe they think they have played their best...and they will keep striving to do so.

Let's face it...if Stanley plays like he did yesterday (solid, not great), they beat Penn State by two touchdowns. Yesterday was tough...Purdue got all the breaks. The offensive pass interference all on the first touchdown against Moss was obvious...no call. Block in the back on Moore's punt return...no call. Interference on ISM all day long...it was just one of those games. You have to be better than bad breaks/calls going against you...we came up short.

I'll go on record as saying they beat NW this week...and they won't lose to Illinois or Nebraska either.

6-6 would truly be a travesty, but I don't think that will happen. 7-5 will be bad enough.

Anything less than 9-3 will be disappointing, even 9-3 will be "what if". 7-5 would be poor. 6-6 is the team and coaches giving up....and that..is not acceptable. If that happens, heads should roll, no excuse.

Pre season, If you had said 9-3, I would have been ok, even somewhat pleased. But given "how" we've lost...

Goddamnit.

Beat f'n nebby, who I've said for 3-4 weeks now...has a qb and offense that is historically a problem. Ugh...

This is fairly accurate but it kind of goes to the over all inconsistency of the program right now. Special teams costs us one week. QB play costs us another week. Lack of game management/play calling gets us another week. Yesterday it was defense. Maybe the margin is too thin under KF. Too many things have to work perfectly for a great season to occur. More often than not, things don't work that perfectly. I'm not surprised by the last 2 losses. Not at all. I won't be surprised if we lose to NW either. I'd be shocked if we lost to Illanoy. I'd be sick to my stomach if we lost to Debbie.

10-3 would be a great season. But, losing these 3 games in the manner in which they were lost will also undeniably dampen what would otherwise be a celebratory season.
