This just became a hollow season...but can still be decent win wise historically.

I have tried to be pretty optimistic, even after the PSU loss. Hard to now. Iowa has the talent, but nothing earth shattering to play for. Don't get me wrong, the Florida sun is a hell of a lot better than icy cold NYC, but I got to think the players wanted more than that. Even as fans. Let's be honest, we all wanted to play in Indy for a chance at a championship (fans and players). We had a good shot at it. All gone now. Even playing in Florida feels a bit hollow considering where this team was after the Maryland game.

Have to real worried about this team's mindset. Northwestern has enough to beat us at home. Illinois showed some fight today and won by a lot. Nebraska showed some fight today and narrowly lost in the Shoe.

10-3 now is as a good as it is going to get (with also winning the bowl game) and with a chance to get a real quality win (outside of ISU) in a bowl game.

But, this team feels like it is limping to 8-4 or 7-5 into another ho-hum bowl game.

Hollow, depressing, and frustrating. We just can't put It all together against a good opponent when we need to.

I guess it could be worse, some programs could only wish they were a 8-7 win team.

Iowa's going to either the Foster Farms or Holiday Bowl. Gotta sell the rubes errrrrr fans tickets somehow. Buy those tickets to California now.

I think they win the rest, but really does it matter? Hopefully, NW takes down the Irish and we piss all over Pat's golden season and knock them out of the west title hunt. Still won't matter too much for us but pride.

The Foster Farms Bowl is the Redbox Bowl now. It’s much more high class.
Oh Lord. I guarantee that Iowa will be in the "Redbox Bowl" now. In fact, I can't think of anything more appropriate. You'd probably find most of the rubes errrr fans who would attend such a bowl standing in front of a Redbox right now, in fact.

Just watched ND beat NW, poor Pat! Got them on a QB keeper to go up by 10. NW almost held them to a field goal. Then ND slammed shut the door on a 4th and 2. That's what good teams do. Maybe next year for Iowa. The good news is Iowa is losing down to a team we might have a chance against in a bowl game. Look what a team with a decent offense did to Iowa today. Think what a team with a good offense and defense would do against us.

Man looking at the Big Ten West....trying to figure out who will be the representative. As crazy as it sounds, Iowa is still not completely eliminated. Just need Wisconsin, Purdue, and Northwestern to lose twice (and we can hand NU one of those).

My best guess:
Wisconsin will lose to Penn St and Purdue, beat minny, finishes 5-4 (owns tie breaker over Iowa)
Purdue wins out and beats minny, Indiana, and Wisconsin finishes 7-2 (owns tie breakers over iowa, Wisconsin)
Northwestern loses to Iowa, beats minny and Illinois, finishes 7-2 (owns tie breakers, over Purdue, and Wisconsin)

Iowa.....give them the benefit of the doubt....LOL....wins out and beats Northwestern, Illinois, and Nebraska to finish 6-3 in conference. And, the big kick in the nuts, if Iowa would have beat Purdue today they would have been in Indy, or did not give the Wisconsin and Penn St games away...…..

Therefore, Northwestern wins the West Title...….puke

If that happens, It'll be very weird with a 7-5 NW team in the B1G championship.
No question, and I'm projecting that to happen at this point in time. Iowa could be sitting at 9-3 (with the best overall record in the West) and be no where close to Indy. Puke.

If Hock & Fant both declare for the draft, our offense is gonna have a tough time next year. Losing 2 stud TEs along with a starting center, LG, RG, and WR is a lot to overcome. It'll give Brian and his groupies a whole new set of excuses though.
