This is just ugly

I caught the last six minutes and don't recall one pass into the paint; in fact, don't recall one attempt to pass inside.

every time we passed inside fuller and brommer got stuffed. cully had some nice drives and finished about half of them.

newmexhawk, do you ever get tired of pointing out that a lot of our players are white? i'd take eric may, jason bohannon, robbie hummell, and john shurna any day, and i'd also love aaron fuller, raymar morgan, evan turner, and kalin lucas. i'm not sure why i'm supposed to care that some of those guys are black and some are white.

Because it does matter. How many good teams out there look like Iowa? Duke? They get the best of the best though.

As we've come to expect against any team that is ranked or above .500 in league play really, Iowa is being embarrassed. Purdue is simply the superior team and it is not close.

Our last game v. Illinois wasn't embarrassing.

OSU wasn't bad either.

Purdue, ranked top 5, at home, tough sledding for many/most teams.

I did see the replays of his drives. They were all niiiiiiice. He'll be a pretty good PG in a year or two.

Totally agree with you ; Purdue is going to be a tough road for anyone on Keady Court. Also thought that the Hawks hung in there tough against Ohio St. both games and probably should have beat Illinois ; the team that schooled Michigan St.

Do you believe in unicorns too?

OSU beat Iowa by 8 and by 10. I guess because the term "hung in there" is relative, but losing by an average of 9 makes it look like OSU had no trouble handling Iowa. Should have beat Illinois? Crack anyone?

But anyone who actually watched those OSU games knows that they certainly had their hands full with us. Pushing the lead to 8-10 points late on free throws doesn't scream "easy win" to me. Down 4 with 30 seconds to go is hardly "handling" us. So yeah, it would look like an easy win to anyone who didn't watch the game. And anymore, that's what a lot of Iowa "fans" are doing, yet there are a large number of them who seem to be experts on what's best for the program. Not accusing you of that Ghost, but there are a lot of fans who aren't watching but still b*tching.

I think what you are seeing is that we have to expend to much energy to get a good shot. Thus when we have scenarios like at michigan and at Purdue where we are playing 3 games in 6 days we just don't have much in the tank. Two ways to improve this is get better athletes or get a deeper team where you can play 9-10 guys without a dropoff. The first scenario won't happen next year but the second one might.

I really wish Michigan was Wednesday. You have the bye anyway so I wish we had the extra day to rest up. I expect to be in the game much like OSU at home but down the stretch not have enough left.
