This is a GREAT NBA finals...

If you aren't watching it, you should be. Great players, every game coming down to the final seconds. Really have enjoyed watching it. Hope it goes 7, although if the Mavs win before then I would be ok with it. My son is rooting for the Heat, he is loving it too.

It's been nearly a decade since I cared about the NBA.
I've been a Dirk fan for a long, long time, though and rooted for the Mavs from afar since the early 2000s. Didn't watch many games, but kept up on the scores, etc... Was a Bulls and a Rockets fan as a kid.

I just have had a hard time watching NBA play. It was brutal to watch there for awhile.

I have enjoyed these playoffs and have watched more NBA the last month than I have in a long, long, long time.

Same here, I was a fan as a kid with Jordan, Bird, and Magic. Haven't really watched since then. Watched the playoffs and the finals. It is pretty good.

David Stern is an arrogant SOB, but he deserves a lot of credit for bringing back the casual NBA fan. After the brawl in Detroit I thought the causal fan was gone and wasn't coming back. The league still has issues, but what pro sports league doesn't.

Likeable young stars.....Pending free agency for Paul, Howard and Williams could make things even more interesting. I will not be watching a ton of regular season games, but I will be watching the playoffs for the foreseeable future. I don't think the upcoming lockout will even change that for me.

I love basketball so the NBA playoffs have been great for many years for me.
Really have followed the NBA since I was a little kid and the Celts were great...Russell-era.
As a Bulls fan, I watch most of their games in the regular season, and died with them in the Eastern Conference Finals. Rooting very hard for the Mavs...great games...as they said last nite,it was the second closest NBA final(margin of victory) in league history thru 4 games, and last nite did not change that. Please let the Mavs win the next two games!!!

I'm almost completely back in as a fan. Now they need to do the following to get my full support: (1) Get rid of the preferential treatment for star players, (2) create some type of penalty for flopping, (3) call travelling strictly according to the rules, and reduce the number of time outs alloted to each team.

Still not a fan. I just don't think it really intrigues me anymore. Tried to watch last night...just couldn't get into it. I'll stick to the other sports and let you guys have the fun with the NBA. :D

Besides the great games, I've enjoyed it because my kids are talking smack to me. They are rooting for the Heat, me the Mavs. One of the few times we are not rooting for the same team, so kinda fun.

I don't have a dog in the fight but am enjoying the Finals and honestly don't care who wins. I hope it goes 7 games and the remaining 3 are as close as the first 4 have been.

Same here.. at the beginning of the season I hated the Heat, but now I almost hate their haters more. So I'm just hoping to see a game 7 with some more close games at this point.

Another great game tonight. The Heat were 3 minutes away, now the Mavs are 1 win away.

Could be looking at the second year in a row with a game 7 in the Finals.

James is out of this world talented but he's still not a big shot maker. He needs to go to the hoop more down the stretch.

The Mavs HAD to win this game and they did. How can you not love Bereas or whatever his name is. The little focker dribbling all over the place making threes and dishing. Love it. This is going 7 I think.

I could not agree more, this NBA finals has been very fun to watch. I dont care to much for Lebron anymore but D Wade has been amazing to watch. Hes all up blocking 7 footers trying to dunk. I hope the Mav's hold on and take it but I also kind of hope it goes 7 games.

I agree they are good but I just can't watch the NBA other than the fourth quarter. I am getting that way with college hoops as well, where I just watch the second half of non Iowa games.

Yes, the old adage about not needing to tune into NBA games til the 4th quarter is very true for this series,no doubt, but if you love basketball, you want to see the whole game and a couple of OT's also,in this series. But, I felt the same way about last years Boston-Laker series also. It came down to the last two minutes of game 7 and was a thriller also, but this series has been even closer with each game coming down to the last couple of possessions.
This series also has the perfect dynamic...the Villians(Heat) vs the White Knights(Mavs). And a lot of interesting types of players, some unique, like Berrea,Dirk,DWade,Lebron, Kidd ect. I do think fans are excited to see some new blood out there...Lakers and Kobe have been there so much...time for new.

I think the NCAA tourny was very underwhelming the last couple of years, really, and has paled in comparision to the NBA playoffs...the attrition of star quality athletes has hurt the college game, and watching the Butlers slowdown, low scoring teams start to dominate the tourny has not served the college game well. This is why I am so glad that Iowa grabbed Fran...bb is supposed to be entertainment as well as a pure game....and recruits are fans like all of us,and they want to play fast like they see in the NBA playoffs.
