This game ruined a magical season

This season was magical for 12 games and the 13th game was the best game I've ever attended. BUT, given the body of work and finish in the last 2 games this is not an historic team. They wanted to be known as one of the best teams ever at Iowa but in reality they are the 5th best team that Ferentz has coached (2002-4 and 2008-9). They overachieved and played with heart for 13 games but unfortunately didn't show up to play today. I hope this gives them motivation to prove they weren't just a product of their schedule and some fortunate bounces.

We've just never been able to get over the hump of national relevance. And that's okay. Still proud to be a Hawk. Never wouldve dreamed of a 12-2 season after last year. But, just irks me that we likely won't see Iowa in the Rose Bowl again for a good 25 years?

I don't want to see another Rose Bowl again for a while. Hawks just do not perform out there at all.

^^^^this! My thoughts and ponderings: Aboslutly punked in every phase of the game. This makes two years in a row embarresed and dominated in bowl games. A twelve win team isn't bad even against a week schedule but what needs to be done to compete with top end teams. "Next Year! " Offensive line needs to beef up 15 to twenty pounds and just get mean. CJ didn't have much time to throw in either of Rhett last two game and we didn't run block worth a crap. For the love of GOD Kirk! Next season just take your fastest recievers and get them on the field. Don't worry about seniority or how well they block. Teach them to block but darn it we need guys that can get open and maybe yac would need nice too. CJ keep studying football and go to the best QB camp you can this summer. Defensive line! Beat them like dogs from now till next year and add 5 to 10 pounds to these guys too. Recruiters! Get done damn speed at some key positions! That is all! End rant!

damn, I knew Iowa wasn't on a roll coming into the game but I didn't realize they sucked that much ***.
 
I feel like a MAC team who finally met a real power five team. It appears finebaum etc were right all along. Iowa was a pretender.

How can this be? People talk as if Brian Ferentz is some kind of offensive line God.
