Iowa basketball at the tail end of the Mr. Davis era. Lightly heralded guys having career games against us.....the same stale offense......the same defense, etc, etc.
Problem is that we fans got what we asked for and here we are 10 years later and we're the laughing stock of the Big 10.
I'm as frustrated as the next guy with this season. I think the defense has underperformed big time. I think the coaching staff has let us and the team down by not having a more attacking mentality on offense (given the enormous amount of skilled playmakers). I think there has been noticeable inattention to special teams until it became apparent that they were terrible.
However, I also recognize that we are one bad hire away from turning into Minnesota overnight. No one wants to see that happen. So before we start calling for wholesale changes in the coaching staff, let's at least recognize that this coaching staff has been around the block a time or two and realize that we have been missing the heart and soul of this coaching staff (Norm) for the better part of the season. I still have faith that we can continue to move forward as a program with the coaching staff we currently have. With that being said, though, today really sucked!!
