Ferentz coached teams always get better between late September and the end of November. There are a lot of morons on here who will be eating their words come January when we win the Cap One bowl.
 
Just for fun, go over and read the message board on iowa.247sports.com. I would be interested to see what you think. I have increasingly relied on that board for some good discussions of Iowa football, pro and con. But, personal attacks, name calling, repetitive bashing (rather than straightforward reasoned criticism), will get you nowhere...except warned by the moderator, who contributes heavily to the discussions.

I've remained on board the good ship Iowa Football for decades now, and I ain't about to dive off. I just wish The Captain of the ship would either do a consistently better (superior, even) job, or step aside and let someone else man the wheel.
But yeah, reeling off five straight wins would cheer me up to some degree. :cool:

I like Ferentz on a personal level. He's a good man. I know most of you will find that hard to believe, but its true. I'd love nothing more than for Ferentz to turn this sh!t around and make me eat a buffet of crow. If this were about personal affinity I'd blindly support the guy.

But he keeps making the same maddening, almost insane, football mistakes over and over and over and refuses to change. It's brutal to watch. He looks like hell, you can tell it's beating him down, and yet the solution lies entirely with him. It's like watching some sordid psychological unraveling that is entirely fixable. THAT is why I'm p!$$3d,; not because the program hits road bumps every now and then.

Take some folksy yet profound wisdom from your predecessor, Kirk. Scratch where it itches.

RoseBowl isn't out of reach since we only lost a meaningless OOC game.
 
We'll have to wait until after the Iowa State game on September 14th to see if the board changes.

For all intensive purposes, I think it is. I think OSU will beat us in the Title Game in Indy if we make it that far (I don't know that we would be able to get past Michigan, either) and then if OSU goes to the national title game, the Rose Bowl just won't be able to pick us. Other than OSU and Michigan, I don't see any games on the schedule where I'm leaning loss right now. Definitely some tough games, but pretty much everybody save for the Big Two is beatable, which bodes well for a Cap One berth.
 
If there were a "shock" for a board like a pool product, it could use it ;)

Iowa needs to get to 2-1 to return things to some sense of "ok, now lets start from here"

Yeah..... but more like fanboys, haters, and Instigators! IMO, it was much better back in the day...circa Feb 2013 BB (before bannings).... at least then there was humor and "smart" wit to make ya think. (sorry if I offended some, OK4P, suction 136, shane, HFN, et al who still post here with "smart" humor with some regularity). Actually, bring back the Poli/Con board, and then peeps can spill their anger somewhere besides every thread in the football forums... and then maybe we won't have to see the same old dribble. every. friggen. day!
