Update:
http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/school/_/id/2294/class/2020

ESPN ranking

IA - Jones - 81 - 4 stars (ESPN 300) (state track meet winner along with incoming Fenske)
TX - Deuce - 80 - 4 stars (ESPN 300)
IL - LESHON WILLIAMS - 80 - 4 stars (gonna give win1discentury credit on this one. We owe him a thank you for his pull with the almighty)
IL - Elsbury - 80 - 4 stars
TX - Yelverton 79 - 3 stars (no way he doesn't get promoted to 4 stars)
WI - Lois - 79 - 3 stars
IA - Volk - 76 - 3 stars
IL - Bruce - 76 - 3 stars
IA - Williams - 76 - 3 stars
IA - Hurkett - 3 stars (still no numeric rating)

40% of this class is 4 stars. Let's extrapolate to February.
assuming 25 signees = 10 recruits with a 4 star rating. To put it in perspective Maryland has only 1 player rated above 76, and he's a 3 star rated at 78. Not one 4 star despite being surrounded by talent.

This class may indeed rival the 2005 class. I think we add Aaron Witt in a couple months. A 3 star with a 79 rating. On the cusp of 4 stars like Yelverton. Kudos to the staff for poaching from PJ Fleck. Stealing from P5 programs is more satisfying than stealing from the MAC.

So if I had to create a "favorites" ranking, how would it look?
Well I like all these kids a lot. But, on a scale from 1-10

#1 - Deuce on the loose
P5 OFFERS: (according to rivals)
Baylor
Boston College
Colorado
Georgia
Iowa State
Oklahoma State
Syracuse
Tennessee

Apparently having confidence in yourself doesn't discourage P5 programs from offering. Might it (gasp) even be seen as a positive?

How awesome is that 2016 recruiting class turning out to be? Already 2 first round draft picks and a 4th rounder. Possibly another 1st round pick in Aleric.

Cedrick needs to have a Carl Davis type of senior year and he could be drafted. Ditto with Nate Stanley. Golston has a good chance to have a break-out year. Toren Young is a very good back and both Nick Niemann and Kristian Welch have some time to elevate their profile. Banwart looks like a 3-year starter in the making, too, which almost guarantees he will be drafted.

Still feel bad about Spencer Williams. I got the impression he was ahead of Banwart and possibly some of the starters from last year, but health concerns derailed his football career. As opposed to Rugamba who could have had an amazing career, but his own attitude derailed his career.

PS: ranked 9th in the B1G and 47th overall. What a miss by the pundits. I wonder how high they will rank that class after the end of next year if they do a look-back.

So, what is the topic du jour?
WR of course.
according to 247:
David Baker (IN) is Iowa's top target - 6-2 196 - Iowa appears to be tied with Purdue and Indiana

Eamon Dennis (MA) - 5-10 173 - cool interest in Iowa

Quavon Matthews (FL) - 5-11 165 - appears to have Iowa atop his list

Kaevion Mack (IL) - 6-3 170 - appears to have Iowa atop his list

Diante Vines (CT) - 5-11 189 - appears to be a tie between Boston College and Iowa

Jace Andregg (IA) - 6-3 200 - cool interest in Iowa (though recent tweets seems to contradict this)

Some interesting things. Jace is listed under "interested"
Vines - Mack - Matthews - Dennis all listed under "scout look"
Baker is listed under Top Target
This would suggest Jace is the priority after Baker

Me personally, I want a big thick WR. Willies and Hakeem Butler drew attention from the NFL partly because of their size. Looking forward to the next 3 months and finding out who comes aboard

and the 2017 class

That 2017 class is rivaling the 2016 class. The stable keeps getting bigger and richer

https://saturdaytradition.com/iowa-football/iowa-adds-three-transfer-receivers-to-roster/

Tuesday, the Iowa football program announced that it has added three transfer wide receivers to the roster. Those players are Jack Combs (Central Michigan), Charlie Jones (Buffalo) and Oliver Martin (Michigan). All three will join the team as redshirt sophomores.

The rest of the 2017 class:

Logan Jones (IA) and Deontae Craig (IN) - both DEs
Deuce (TX) - QB

Literally no one calls you Mr. Hype.

You own me. You live inside my head. That's why I reply to every thread you post. I'll never be the man you are.

cousinbreederstalker thanks for reminding all of us the joy of being mentally healthy

For the normals:

Cronk's name appears in Iowa's student directory, and a source confirmed to ESPN that he will join the Hawkeyes for the 2020 season. Cronk, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in September and underwent surgery, recently entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Cronk set an Indiana freshman record by starting 13 games in 2016. He started all but one game the next two seasons and the first four in 2019 before suffering the injury in a win over Connecticut. Cronk was elected a team captain for Indiana last season.

Good grief.

13 posts of yours in a row mentioning me, and now you’re changing quotes? That’s mental. And funny.

Go ahead and keep deleting your post history, lol. #creepy #obsession #weird

And what the F is this weird shit? This is like Howard Hughes level psycho...
