There is a big difference between McCaffery and Lick

Lick never had to build a program. McCaffery has had to do it three times. I am not a coach but the amount of energy you have to spend getting recruits to buy in and current players to stay upbeat most be exhausting. Lick never experienced that. I truly believe Fran the Man has more of an idea of what he is getting into. The year before he took over Siena they were 6-24, three years later they were beating Vanderbilt in the NCAA tournament. This to me says a lot more than taking a very successful program and continueing that success with a very good weekend in the tournament (Lick 2007 with Butler).

Obviously this is in hindsight but just thought I would point it out. I have no idea if this will work out or not, but I am excited about the era. Hopefully it is a long one.

I think there is something to this.... He at least knows how to "build" a team from the ground up. I hope it works, we need some hope.
