There goes our squeaky clean slate with the NCAA...

As far as major recruiting violations go, this turned out pretty tame. Sounds like a bad situation handled poorly, but hardly any real devious intent.

What's amazing is that a few years ago Barta and the athletic dept get sued by two former female employees and they win the court case. This cost the UofI something like 6 million dollars and Barta keeps his job. Shamansky (yes he broke an NCAA rule) but just by helping a player pay some rent money and he get's fired.

Apparently a few of you didn't catch the tongue-in-cheek nature of the OP. Obviously volley ball violations aren't something that's gonna show up as the lead on ESPN or even the BTN.

This years volleyball recruiting class was ranked in the Top 25 nationally. This is the first time in school history that Iowa had a Top 25 recruiting class in the sport. I wonder how many of these recruits will ask out of their scholarships
now that Shamansky was let go and the program will most likely be on probation?
