Theory on Iowa AD's not talking....

It always bothered me when another failed Alfraud season passed and Bowlsby never came center stage and said a thing....he knew that the sports writers in Iowa would not be writing any "Will Alford be fired" articles....not their style...this is Iowa....more their style to ALWAYS assume the coach will be back the next season....so every article immediately following seasons end was always "What has to happen next year" to avoid another season like this one.

Move ahead to Football 2014 with Barta.....he says nothing....doesn't have to....the writers do it for him. Why not call his bluff once? Even though you know the odds are KF is back, at least write as if's it up in the air....or at least write as if it SHOULD be up in the air. He knows that if the question is never brought up in the media during his month long bogus bowl preparation period, pretty much all questions get answered for him. I have personally e-mailed several Iowa media columnists, and every one of them say that it's crap about any fear of media credentials being pulled.....so they are either just acting tough, or are secretly on the schools payroll....there is no way that they all still believe KF deserves more time.

One of the most obscure stats over the last five (5) years still bothers me the WORST.....how in the hell during a 4-8 season (2012), can ONE QB get 100% of the snaps? BTW, get ready for Canzeri in 2015 to get 95% of the carries.

Playmaker I love your theories but I'd be willing to bet Barta want's KF to succeed more then anyone. If KF is terminated within the next 2 years, Barta probably won't be the one doing it, because if KF is gone you can bet your butt Barta is gone as well.

Of course Barta wants him to succeed....he is directly tied to him. But perception becomes reality in that if nobody in the Iowa media entertains the thought of KF being fired, and fans become comfortable with that being a forgone conclusion, Barta slips the hangman's noose without really having to open his mouth until after the Bowl game....and by then, fans are more interested in Big 10 Basketball.

Using the previous three seasons as evidence for Canzeri, he'll get dinged up in the first game. John Kenny will go on to become Iowa's leading rush-attempt with 700 carries.

Funny, I know two journalists who have said their access was limited when they wrote something negative.

Barta is probably somewhere with his head in the sand, not even realizing there is a controversy.

barta isn't talking because kirk's making him wear a ball gag while he..........well, you know

IOWuh9 - The latest writer who told me I was crazy has been at the Kazoo for 100 years...maybe he is lying....who knows.

There was so much fail in the rest of this post I thought I'd concentrate on this. Do you honestly think Canzeri will get 95% of the carries next year? Especially when you look at his history? He has spent the majority of his career at Iowa injured. Not a knock on Jordan, just stating fact. Knowing his history, how can you even think this?

The two I know are local writers. I wonder if there is a different set of standards for the guys/gals who are there a few times/week.

Let's face it. The rest of the world sees Iowa as a tough 7-5 / 8-4 team. Nobody is really shocked to see Iowa go 7-5 outside of Iowa. Nobody is aware of the schedule thingy.
