Well the fake field goal worked against Ohio St last year, tooOne of the reasons it worked is that it is so unlike Kirk to do something like that. And it was Minnesota. Don't know how many other teams that would work on.

Maybe the proximity to the end zone and with the ball being on the far left hashmark. Plus maybe they were fairly certain how MN would line up to try defending it and when they showed the look they did they just rolled with it. Hard telling how long they've had that play in their pockets for. Also sometimes just the randomness of pulling that out like that is what helps it work. The TV guys thought they were just trying to get MN to burn a TO. Bet Fleck wishes he did now...I really like the play, but I'll be honest, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was "Why did they use this against Minnesota?". Head scratcher.
Maybe they have others in line, don't know.
I just wish they would have saved it for the penn state game.

True. I wonder if any coach that's ran anything off the wall like that has ever ran it twice in the same game or two games in a row. Seems like they are one and done kind of deals as far as running the same thing again goes.Well, there is something to the fact that the more obscure trick plays you run down there, the more difficult for future opponents to key on or know what you are doing. They won't know for sure what you are throwing at them, even if the play was ran before.
Fleck was too busy activating his bilge pumps and trying to bail out his boat.Maybe the proximity to the end zone and with the ball being on the far left hashmark.
