I was a Cap'n Crunch fan (ahem, still am). That would a good name for a bowl game, too. In fact, name them all after kid cereals.

The other day while watching an enthralling episode of Blaze and the Monster Machines, I was lamenting to my old lady how there are no cereal commercials during cartoons anymore. Bince she ain't from 'round here, she had no idea what I was talking about, so I fired up a cereal compilation on YouTube for her viewing pleasure. She was completely shocked by the old ads. The "Super Sugar Crisp" ad really drew her ire, as did one for that cereal that was ice cream cones with the fake ice cream puffs and the Cookie Crisp commercials.

In other bowl news, the Count Chocula Bowl will be played on October 31st (Halloween) in Transylvania.

Transylvania County, NC? That ain't far from me. I'd go. But if it's at Transylvania U in Kentucky, that's a little far for me to drive for a second tier bowl game.

It wasn't enough to keep the kids humming through the morning with Sugar Crisps; they went and made them "Super", to ensure the little ones crashed all afternoon so mom & dad could get things done.

And considering Cap'n Crunch was (and for all I know still is) made in Cedar Rapids, where would that bowl be played? Kingston Stadium in late December?? OK, even if it was, it would still be a better bowl experience than the Pinstripe Bowl.

CR is a cereal wonderland

Growing Top Quality Oats for Quaker. The Quaker Oats plant at Cedar Rapids, Iowa is the world's largest cereal mill, milling millions of bushels of oats a year.

I eat a lot of Quaker Oats oatmeal in the Winter with raisins, brown sugar and half and half.....

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is still the best.

I don’t have kids so is it still okay to feed them sugary cereal?
