1. Christian Ballard will start at Broderick Binn's DE spot or will
receive the majority of playing time there while Mike Daniels will play DT.

2. Christian Kirksey has received time in camp with the 2's. He is impressing
but will not play.

3. Zach Derby and C-Fed are fighting for the #3 TE spot behind Hermann.

4. Brad Rogers is clearly #2 at FB.

5. Jack Swanson is the clear #2 FS.

I'd prefer to stay with the 4-3 and substitute more often, so we can avoid having our D-line running on fumes in the 4th quarter.

Besides, a 5-2 (really about the same as a 3-4) works best with a massive nose guard, and Iowa doesn't really have one of those.

More likely we would run a 4-3 with a linebacker at the line in a 2-point stance. But I think the best thing about our defense is that we keep things so vanilla. Man coverage, little blitzing, make their athletes beat our athletes.

Following 0044 and "the shadow" for the last 5 years, I can honestly say that EVERYTHING he has let us in on has come true, or been the case.
