The Shadow Knows French

My Dark Friend was into some wine when he called me last night. He had dinner at the Wig & Pen and ordered a bottle of wine. Later, after he had said goodbye to Wig proprietor, Dick Querrey, he headed home and opened another bottle of wine before calling me.

He kept saying, "Parlez-vous francais?" I replied that I didn't speak French. He laughed and said that was my loss, but not Coach Fran's. Between his laughing and his French language
I was having a difficult time deciphering what he meant.

Finally he said, "Eric Katenda was born and raised in Paris, France."

Then he added that Coach Fran has a great relationship with Katenda dating back to the Siena days.

Finally, The Shadow said that Coach Fran is fluent in French.

Parlez-vous francais?

Not to create a letdown, but isn't Katenda visiting Notre Dame next weekend? Katenda's official to Iowa is this weekend(crappy weather but at least it won't be cold). I guess what I'm saying is I wouldn't expect a commitment anytime soon. But....The Shadow knows best.

Basketball recruiting in the spring always seems to have a few twist and turns. That appears to be the case for the Sunrise Christian Academy duo of Eric Katenda and Gabe Olaseni, according to their coach, Kyle Linsted. Katenda, a long time target for Coach Fran McCaffery, will make his official visit to Iowa next weekend. Meanwhile, Olaseni, who visited Iowa last weekend, has put all visits on hold.
