I saw a purdue dribbler just get sandwiched by two MSU guards and they called purdue for travelling, Painter had his face painted red he was so hot. I dont have the volume up so not sure what the coaches are saying but there is more time out than time in.

Teddy Ballgame Valentine is giving his own personal best effort to ensure his man crush Tom Izzo wins this game.

Really glad Trice is a senior. Looking forward to never hearing from that dude ever again...like Aaron Craft

Haas for Purdue is doing his best impression of "The Crippler". At 7'2 and 275 lbs, he's a made for WWE star. Him and The Crippler could be tag team champions.

Interesting game from Michigan State. Both Valentine and Dawson went to the locker room. Dawson never came back after sustaining a head injury of some kind

Is this the same crew that did the Iowa game at Indiana on Tuesday? How can they let the MSU thuggery go like this. It's not basketball...it's a hi bred of football and basketball. Everytime a Purdue player catches something down low, shove in the back. Purdue's bigs are exhausted from having guys hanging all over them.

MSU's strategy is to be overtly physical to start the game, similar to Illinois the other night in Iowa City, so the officials can't call everything or else it looks one sided. Then Izzo / Gross can point to the disparaging foul situation and suddenly the officials eat the whistle for the rest of the game to keep it FAIR. Its ********...and it's got to stop.

Because you coach that style does't mean you should get away with it. MSU players are accustomed to this style and therefore thrive in the brawl style game. If you noticed, Purdue's bigs missed a ton around the basket because they aren't used to that style...or getting pounded for 40 minutes. It works, but should it?

I would say without qualification, without knowing the game or circumstances, and without know what is being said that in the top picture that:

IZZO SHOULD BE TEEd UP THERE. That is friggin crazy that the ref is just looking his way and soaking it up.

Man I wish there were mostly John Wooden's who mainly sat on the bench and then when they did get up the refs knew they screwed up.

The thing is, as long as teams like MSU get away with this crap, there is always going to be that next player that we get to love so much for four more years. Next man in.

Certain coaches are an embarrassment to the game with the way they behave on the sidelines, and don't get T'ed up, so they push it farther and farther. Maybe it's just me, but back in the day, it seemed like it wasn't such a commonplace thing for a coach to go nuts and do things like Izzo is doing in the pic posted above.. Not that it didn't happen, but if they did, they got T'ed up, maybe tossed with a 2nd T. Now it seems to be accepted. Time to put the foot down and T these guys up, or maybe fines & suspensions from the league if the behavior is bad enough. Ya know, like happened with Fran last year. Other coaches seem exempt.

John Wooden was an unbelievable coach and teacher, an absolute legend. That said, when you had the teams he had, a little easier to be stoic.

You said that Izzo points out the disparity and the officials swallow their whistles for the rest of the game. That's incorrect. What actually happens is Izzo points out the disparity, then the refs start to call illegal screens and hand checks to even out the fouls, THEN they swallow their whistles.

I know folks will say we can't play the ref card. Thing is, how many times does a team need to be bailed out with no-calls, coach intimidating the refs, etc., before someone realizes it "could" cost a team more than just a bucket or even a game? The M$U thug-ness and no-calls two seasons ago in the BTT may well have cost us an NCAA bid.

Hey, the NIT run was cool, but a team shouldn't have to play against 5 PLUS 2 or 3. A totally blown call Tuesday cost UM against NW. It was "just one call", but it was at the end of OT, Michigan would have won, etc. If the same thing happened to us and we maybe missed an NCAA bid because of it? Sorry, not acceptable.

It's bad enough refs blow calls, but when it rarely/never happens for the M$Us or Izzos, it puts an extra burden on other teams. Why should Bo Ryan get to look and act like Sammy The Bull Gravano yet Mike Tirico, Michael Wilbon and Dan Dakich get to campaign against Woody, Fran, et. al.?

Dakdick the other night was talking about coaches of the year...he's got Painter, Turgeon, the Grinch...and never once mentions Fran. Nevermind Fran will have a better everything than Painter...and had much bigger holes to fill than the Grinch at Wisconsin. If he goes to the Championship Game in B10 tourney...At 12-6 regular season...he's your coach of the year.
