The Real Suspense: Will Iowa be a Number 1 Seed in the NIT?

OK, I'm over the MSU loss. Heck, there was no guarantee that we were going to receive an NCAA bid even if we had defeated Michigan State.

Here is the real suspense: Will we be a number 1 seed in the NIT? If we are, in theory we could have THREE home games in an attempt to make it to Madison Square Garden.

The NIT selections are made right after the NCAA selections on Sunday.

I love this young team. I want to see them play more games.

I think we will be a 2 seed, but wouldn't be shocked if we get a 1 or 3 seed either.

I would hope a BIG bubble team is worthy of a #1 seed in the NIT. Especially in a particularly strong year for the BIG.

When I was a young lad in the late 70's, I'd lay awake at night listening to Ron Gonder calling Hawk games and dream of a day Iowa, yes Iowa would be a #1 seed in the NIT. My dream is about to come true.

A few years ago I would have loved to have been a 1 seed in the NIT. So, cool I guess.

All games Iowa had in hand and blew, that is why the NIT is calling and not the real show.
