Judge a coaching staff by its RECORD. We finished 3-4 in close games decided late in the 4th quarter, but 9-4 overall. We beat a ranked SEC team in the bowl game. We finished ranked in the AP Top 25, and finished ranked in Top 10 of Sagarin and several other rating services.

It was a very good season, but not a great one. One of Kirk's best teams, but not one of his all time best, due to their inability to win the close games.

I'm more concerned about Morgan's retirement than the departures of two outstanding tight ends.

Would like us to see us start recruiting higher quality TE's on a national level. Every 4 star and 5 star TE in America should have an Iowa offer. Wherever we are known for producing NFL talent including O-Line and DB, we need to take a step up in offering higher profile recruits on a national level. If we fail, we failed for not lack of trying. We have a product to sell, it's time to sell it. Combined with on the field success, we can only improve our national image. With Nebraska and Purdue recruiting improving, we need to stay one step ahead just to stay in the race or risk getting past by.
