The players demeanor after NW game

HawkeyeReport.com - Video: Hawks try to explain defeat

I know the interviews were after the loss to NW, but I hate to say it even if we get selected for the dance tonight... I think this season is over. The players don't seem to believe their own words about getting things turned around and appear just to totally dejected. Good thing is another disappointing season of football is right around the corner! Spring practice starts March 26th!

Yes they have lost their MOJO...I still believe in my heart this team can get it back. Maybe it will be someone new...someone who has only seen them on film...the bright lights...whatever the trigger might be. These kids all have put so much time into getting here, I do not think they will pee down their legs. It will really only take a good start, get a win under their belt and the talking heads will start helping by saying Iowa has the potential and talent to beat anyone...then the train starts rolling. My wife just told me to wake up...I hope not!

Hope is fine. We all want the Hawks to play well. This team, for whatever reason, is just not as good as we had hoped. The shots aren't falling, the effort on defense is lacking and there is some disconnect somewhere at a vital level. Winning teams come together this time of year. Iowa, sadly, has come apart.

they have one more game left. I hope they have a good showing.

The Lads will be thrilled to play in the NCAA Tournament, and they will play like the team they have been earlier in the year. I do have a feeling they will regain their pride, and even if they are one of the 32 teams that lose in the first round, they still played in the Big Dance. One more step in the right direction......

I would also like to think that "this" was their goal when they signed on to play for Coach McCaffery and join the Iowa program. Hopefully they understand that they have accomplished something good and maybe this will be a confidence booster for these guys despite everything that has happened.

They can now cross one of their goals off of their list and now worry about the next one, winning the next game and making noise in a tournament setting like they did last year at Madison Square Garden.

Its Selection Sunday and our team is moping cause they don't get along and things aren't going their way???

Time to pull your head out boys.

I think everyone could help a little. The questions asked, the way they were asked is kind of ******. "How demoralizing is it ......, your shot is not falling, this is like groundhogs day...." There are positives and these kids need more positive people involved.

As long as we avoid the play in game (which we should just barely) then I think this team will be rejuvinated by making the dance. I think if they can just find a way to win their first game in the tourney that will give them a huge boost. Whether or not they can propel that into more wins kind of depends on the opponent, but at the very least I feel like we'll see better performances.

I feel the certain members of this team are questioning each others abilities and/or the coaches coaching decisions. In other words they have lost the cohesion they once had, and have most likely written the rest of this season off.

Doesn't help that one bone headed play by anyone not named Marble leads to the bench.

If I was coach and was seeing the demeanor of AW, that kid would probably have been on the bench a while ago.
