The NS TD when the OSU defender was gnawing at his ankles

That play stood out to me as the play of the game as well on Stanley's part. I live down here in Florida and have told the guys at work all season that we have an up and comer in Nate Stanley who they will hear plenty about over the course of the next couple of seasons. You just don't see an average quarterback make that kind of play. I too read one of the Ohio State message boards and one fan commented on them getting beat by average passes to the tight ends. While the tone of the comments didn't seem overly dismissive of Iowa what game did that fan watch?

I've watched a few different replays of this TD pass. Wow. This is the kind of clip an agent shows NFL teams... what a stud throw.

hopefully it'll be the moment everyone sees him as more than a qb, but as a "balla wid mad skillz y'all"

It was an amazing play! His patience under pressure is something else. If he had some reliable WR that could consistently get separation, he'd be on Gameday final every week.

Big Ten offensive POTW too, right?

I noticed when Boza head butted NS it didn't even faze him. He just looked at Boza like WTF! Stanley is one tuff player and the best part is ............He's a Hawkeye ya'll! ( I guess it's Bosa but who cares )

That TD pass was the exact moment in time when he just took his play to a new higher level.
No longer some soph kid muddling his way through his first season as a starter - it takes a HELLUVA MAN to throw a fastball-dart like that with a 1st rounder locked on your leg trying to pull you down!

QB is more than just ball skills it's mental. And this kid has it. He doesn't make too many mistakes. Then there is the effect he has on his team mates. These guys are rallying around him. He is their QB. There is a confidence that is growing not only in Nate Stanley but in the whole team. This is going to be fun to watch. This is the payoff for being a Hawkeye fan. Enjoy and relish every moment.

He definitely has an NFL arm. I kinda wonder if he'd resemble John Elway if he really let em fly.

He kind of does. Good comparison. Tall, strong arm, not going to run a lot. Also Ben Rothlisberger with extending plays being able to take hits from linemen.

Love this kid. I hope KOK and BF take him tot he next level. He has some real talent around him. This team should be real exciting the next couple years.

That, or possibly a different name on the front of his jersey... Plays too far north and/or west.

Not only patience under pressure, but with a man holding onto his front leg, his strength to regain physical composure, his ability to keep his composure with a 2nd defender bearing down on him, keeping his eyes down field, the arm strength to zip it in on a line off his back foot, his accuracy to throw it away from the defender so only his guy had a chance to catch it. It really was the play of the game; sending to JJ's one-handed pick.

The kid is kind of built like a brick sh*t house. If he wasn't playing QB I bet Iowa would have him playing tight end.

The deep crossing route to Vandenburg for about 25 yards was also an NFL scouts dream. Looks right to move the safety then comes back left and throws a dart on time and on target right between the 8 and the 9. From the time his brain said throw to the time it got to Vandenburg was about 2 seconds. That to me was also an incredibly impressive throw.

JT Barrett throws lollypops compared to Stanley.

Stanley as a high first round draft pick would be great for the Big Ten and great for Iowa recruiting in the future...

Of course, the OSU game was a "perfect storm" for Iowa and Stanley...so when reality sets in, as it always does...hope he continues to improve and be a "name" QB of national fame for a long time.

I suggest throwing 6 TDs vs Wisconsin.
