The next 4 games will be the determining factor in how the KF Era ends

Well see, now you are changing the bet.

As to who has more "thumbs down". Welp da haters out there span the thumbs down to anyone who doesn't toe da haters line. For instance you have given 52 thumbs down, mysteron 45, etc. whereas I have given 4. Go ahead and post the poll if you want, I could list the names that don't like me that would vote against. My guess is everyone else would vote off the alt troll that is rollingthunder. It doesn't take a freaking scientist to spot you idiots who join and come out blazing like trolls from post one. I'm not sure why JD lets you keep your alts, but whatever I'm not da man paying the bills.

I'm a member of the hater brigade, and I have given few downvotes.

If Iowa ends up at 7 - 5 and looks bad doing it, are you going to be satisfied? Cause I think that's what is going to happen...

9+ wins: Stays on course to passing this on to BF

8 or less: Barta starts putting out feelers

The last person I want in charge of this team is another Ferentz. That surely wouldn't happen. This ain't the Bowden family...

Certainly agree with post...just wanted to add 2 other legitimate contenders for playoff...Notre Same and K State...but they too have some tough upcoming games to play, but if they win out, watch their stock rise, certainly over our B1G teams.

I thought about the teams I excluded after posting. Was watching the bottom line on ESPN and it showed the Top 25 matchups for the weekend. I thought, "Man, I put 5 teams fighting for 2 spots and didn't even include Notre Dame, and K-State is right in the mix, too."

This Saturday is going to be moving day in college football with so many huge matchups, but you are 100% right, if Notre Dame wins out, the Irish will most certainly be in the 4-team discussion, and K-State likely will as well. It's going to take some pretty dominant football over the final few weeks for a Big Ten team to get in. The conference has so little respect right now, and Michigan State already has a loss to Oregon, which will factor into the discussion.

The respect is huge though. Look at Ohio State. They started at, what, No. 5 in the country, they only have one loss and are still not back in the Top 10. Meanwhile, the SEC teams lose within the conference and hardly drop at all. Right or wrong, it's a completely unbalanced system right now.

It's a bit shocking to me to see how many people have said the word "playoff" this week in regards to Iowa, as if the Hawks actually had a legitimate shot at the playoffs prior to the season. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it someday, but this year wasn't reality. I don't believe even a 1-loss Iowa team would have into the playoffs considering the soft schedule.

DD, that's the problem. Iowa actually DID have a shot at the playoffs, prior to the season. A 12-0 Iowa team that gets to the B1G championship game could have made it to the playoffs (there could a 2 loss team in the playoffs). This is why KF's approach to a season is more suited for the NFL. In college, particularly this season and beyond, each week is a must win, if you want to make the playoff.

With so many returning starters and such an easy schedule, Iowa very well could (I say should) be 8-0, right now. Maryland is not a good team (please don't give me the "they beat PSU" line, because PSU is a bad team, also.) And losing to ISU, particularly this season, is really a bad loss. Yeah, the way the rest of the top 10 is going, Iowa definitely SHOULD have had a shot. But we pizzed away two wins.

I agree Iowa should be 8-0 ... if they had played typical Iowa Hawkeye football in those 8 games. They also should have had a lot less trouble with UNI and Ball St. Two things though.

1. I still question whether a 12-0 Iowa team would have gotten in. The schedule is incredibly weak and it's one of the main talking points about Iowa every week. Unless Iowa won each game by 20-30 points, I don't seem the Hawkeyes getting in over 1-loss teams like Florida State, Oregon, TCU, Kansas State or Notre Dame. And, I didn't even mention the SEC, which will probably have two teams in regarding of losses. I'd like to think Iowa has sustained a little respect, but I just don't know.

2. I'm not sure I'd even want to see Iowa play one of the aforementioned teams. Playoff or not, I don't think a 40-point drubbing does any good for Iowa. It's debatable.

I didn't make my point well enough. My point is that the way THIS season has unfolded, there could be at least one, maybe two, two loss teams in the top 4. If we were 8-0, right now, and finished 12-0 and then won the B1G, then an undefeated B1G team would have made the playoff over any two loss team. But, we blew that chance against the team KF looses to with frightening regularity.
