Iowa's fan base will come back when the team starts winning. McCaffery will get the team winning quickly. The biggest complaint from the fans is that they don't know who McCaffery is. Well that just proves how uninformed our fans are.

Let me recap what I mean 1) Get Pearl! Never was going to happen 2) Get Steve Forbes "He's from Iowa." Never mind that he is on no other team's list - long or short. 3) "Well Okay, get Gregory." Rumors are he really didn't want the Iowa job, but he was willing to let us twist in the wind and make outrageous requests, like 2 mill per year, oh yeah and in six years he has only led his team to the NCAA tournament twice.

McCaffery, what! Three years running in the tournament. Teams improve quickly. Key first round upsets, including OSU.

If I was moderator it would be BAN CITY for all these NEGATIVE POSTS.. Guy hasn't step on the court and already ripping the hire. PATHETIC...
 
You know we will quickly because of his recruiting prowess or all those wins in ...what conference again?

None of us know what the next couple of years will bring. I will be shocked if it is actual B10 confernce winning talent though.

We need to start the "coalition for logic and reason" to drop the ban hammer on everyone trolling the board right now making ridicuous statements about the new coach, who they know nothing about.

HawkPrdatr40 can be the president - i will be the 1st member. It wont be easy to clean this place up so we better get to work
 
I am getting on the bandwagon...its much more fun to see the resurgence when you were there from the beginning. I think Fran is the man for the job!

yea u could call it russia, u communist.its called freedom of speech. look he needed to make a splash and rejuvenate the fan base jus not seeing it. its like de ja vu im going through the same feelins as when lick whas hired.

Some people people will agree with this hire, some won't and some will reserve judgement. I for one will reserve judgement.

If he can bring in enough talent too make the dance every other year we will be ok..if not oh well

It's not about drinking Kool Aid. It's about supporting the University and it's choice.. They guy hasn't coached a game yet at Iowa. Kool Aid need not apply yet.
 
Has anyone else heard a rumor that BJ was in Carver all day yesterday finalizing plans, which was backed by the Carver family and almost every booster to have Rodell Davis as an Assistant and bring in a assistant from the Chicago Bulls organization... and then at the last second Barta goes and makes his own hire? Just wondering if anyone's heard this.

I don't like this guy period. I don't like his personality, I don't like his resume, and I don't like him as OUR head coach. I hope to hell this guy does what he was hired to do, if not, it will take at least a quarter of a century to get Iowa Basketball back to it's winning ways- imo.
My Sunday is ruined....
 
I heard James Winters was at Carver yestreday and was bringing in Settles as an assistant...and then Barta went out and found someone else....Dammit..
