The Longer Barta Waits......

Does any of this really surprise all of you.

I am starting to think the problem is the UofI not the coaches. The last two haven't lived up to expectations and now we are probably going on our third. Let's suppose this situation was a friend who had gone through two divorces and now is looking for wife number three and that maybe he was the problem and not his ex's. Wouldn't you start to wonder if maybe this friend wasn't cut out for marriage. All I am saying is alford is doing well at new mex and lick did well at butler. How come neither could do sh*t at CHA.

That should be obvious......The curse of Mr. Davis. We won't be cured of it unless we either A)Hire Keno, B)sacrifice a chicken at center court or C)kidnap Bowlsby in the dead of night and get a taped confession and apology from him and deliver it to Mr. Davis.

Anything other than that, and we're screwed.

to make a comment, the more it looks like Lick is gone. I know Barta made a very vague comment yesterday mentioning only the players. However, if Barta wanted to squash this, he would hold a press conference today stating he was behind Lick and how we would be the coach at Iowa next year. If this plays out through the weekend with nothing coming from Barta, I would have to think the announcement of Lick's departure comes early next week, if not Monday?

I concur. Not hearing anything today tells me one thing. Lick is gone!

I'm not really superstitious but there might be something to this curse of Tom Davis idea. Perhaps we can get Mr. Davis to come to CHA and do an exorcism or something. ; ) That's assuming he would be willing.

Because this success you speak of is coming at the MID-MAJOR LEVEL. That doesn't guarantee success in a major conference where the level of competition is much higher.

That's my theory anyway.

I wouldn't call New Mexico a mid major and even if they were they'd kick our butt 10 out of 10 times. Hell, I think Butler beats us too.

I would, but that's just my opinion. Maybe Atlantic-10 type of a level is more accurate, but it sure isn't a BCS level conference. Horizon league, I don't think there's much debate there. I guess, what is it that truly defines "mid-major"?

I agree, I'm sure this year's Butler team beats our team, maybe fairly handily.

My point remains though. Lesser level of competition = more wins.
