The Kirk and Gary Show

Just reading the register article with the reporter that spoke to Gary about Kirk and the program. It just sounds like Gary is the co chair that can't make any decisions for himself.
"The emotions are still raw. We'll have time to evaluate, how do we go from here?" Barta said. "I love the team we have coming back (in 2015). We still have a bowl game to play. Then we'll break down the rest of it." He loves the team we have coming back? Really Gary, putting a spin on early season ticket holders already? Yes we do have a bowl to play but it's nothing anyone here is gonna be proud of. Then comes this piece.

Barta spoke with Iowa 16th-year head coach Kirk Ferentz after the loss. Ferentz said Friday he would not assess big-picture questions until after Iowa's bowl game.

"Right now, he's in the same mode. He's not ready to break down the season," Barta said. "We're going to find out what bowl we're going to. We're recruiting (this week). … Then when it's all done, that's when we'll break down, where did we need to improve offensively? All that will happen after the season."

Well that works great for KIRK. Lets see, he wants to let the S##T Storm calm down four weeks so he doesn't have to figure out how to waffle his way through a meat grinder of a press conference that relates to his performance. I mean this is like getting bad grades in school and telling your parents that we aren't gonna talk about my bad grades right now, we can do it in a month. Well guess what Gary, that doesn't work bud. Do your job and answer the hard questions and ask Kirk some of those hard questions. Basically what it boils down to is we are gonna hope to high heavens that Kirk manages to win The Foster Farm bowl and that will cool down all these rabid fans. In a sick way I almost wish we do lose to help usher kirk out the door. Never have I felt to root against a team until stepping back away from things, losing to Nebraska is only getting us all closer to what we want and that is an Iowa team with a different head coach. Sick and twisted yes but it's what I've come to.

Gary is a homer, but he gets paid to be one. Anything he says should be voided because it doesn't count.

I'm still so mad about the game, would put us 2-2 in the new series and now we have to look forward to nebby building up a Massive edge.

Gary Dolphin is a complete homer. Eddie chooses his words carefully but is much more critical and spot on. Eddie is as confused as all of us about what is going on with this program, he sees it..

Listening to Ed on Soundoff sounded like he was sort of surprised CJ did not get in the game. As for Barta... I have no respect for him. He gave one of biggest laughingstock contracts in the history of college football coaches. Barta will defend Ferentz until the end of time. He has to. He is the idiot who gave him the contract.

Gary will speak when he is ready. He's not going to say anything that is not in the best interests of the program.

I give credit to Eddie for keeping it under control. I'd just lose it and go off if I was him.

Honest question....when's the last time Barta publicly addressed the need to "assess" the program.

I can't either.

The last time I remember Barta being openly critical of an Iowa sports program was when he told Alford it was NCAA or bust the next season....and we all know how that ended.

I think the fact Barta made a public statement like this is huge.

Barta and Dolphin are @$$ kissing yes-men. Only Podolak provides rational critical analysis on a relatively routine basis. He owes nothing to Kurt or the boosters.

Jon's podcast is what a rational observer would surmise. The Kurt era is done. The fuel is gone. It's just a crash and burn glide into the dirt now until the buyout is palatable.

Next season will be an unmitigated disaster, a full metal devolution.

Podolak was asked if this was the most disappointing season he's witnessesed ........he said he didn't know if it was the worst but it was definitely in his top 3. He was also asked about the QB situation and answered that all he knows is that one QB is 5-5 this year and the other is 2-0.

I think he made his points.

He also said he hope CJ does not transfer, as he may be the most talented QB he has seen in his time at Iowa. Too bad KF can't see it.

Just made me more mad to see KF all smiles at the wrestling meet tonight.

He says we will wait until after the bowl game to break down what we need to do better offensively? You might want to figure that out before the bowl game idiots.

Kind of like how KF waited a month and a half to show up in Iowa City after being hire...yeah, that's being real grateful for being hired.

There is much truth to this post. And if next season plays out like I'm afraid it might, it will be a Category 5 sh*t storm around here.

linus - Why are we always resigned to NEXT year being make or break? He needs and deserves to be gone now...enough of this BS!!!
