The Joe Moore Trophy? C'mon

The o-line had few good games in the end...then we get stomped by Florida. This was a Ferentz-Moore connection thing. And the piano-sized trophy? What an overblown hunk of wood and metal. Our line is improving, but last year as whole--mediocre. The trophy is analogical to Brian's career--too much given for too little produced.

How many other OL helped their team to two 1000 yard backs? Pass protection definitely could have been better but two 1000 yard backs is impressive, especially with our lack of pass game.

I'll take as many trophies as we can get. I don't care how they come our way I just want our trophy case over-flowing. In theory these type of awards should help in recruiting. And this class does have a couple of impressive O-line recruits.

Which we got this year. Wirfs is a 4* Army AA player and Kallenberger is gonna be a stud as well. We already have a '18 kid on board who the coaches identified early as a stud.

You gotta admit it is a cool trophy. I think it is more a "career achievement award" for Iowa's great O-lines over the years than an award for this year's O-line, which was good but not great

Lineman can only protect for so long. Ask the best to block for 6 seconds and their will be a breakdown eventually. I think they did well and look forward to building off of that for next year.

Did ferentz use his ouija board?

I agree. The WRs had more to do with our passing game woes. Not getting open, then when they did they had lots of drops.

What would you like them to do, give it back? Maybe they wouldn't take it back, given that it's an "overblown hunk of wood and metal".

He's 33. That's practically a toddler in coaching years and hard to have built up too much production to meet some expectations as to qualifying for the OC position.

So, where do you put a trophy like that? It is cool, but do you really want to put it in a place where it dwarfs all the other trophies?

for the critics and proud alike - iowa has been a finalist 2 years in a row. The unit is very well coached. as mentioned 2 1000 yd rushers w/no passing attack is incredible...the people who judge see this. Not all posters understand the nuances of the game.

Clear the room. Offensive line guru has arrived. He watched a game or two which qualified him to criticize OL play. Run for Presidency next? You probably watched Trump twice so............
