The Ice Cold Hawks, Freeman Out with 2 fouls Game Thread

Sandfort shot a dismal 30% in this game and was responsible for 31% of the total misses for the game and there were 11 guys who took shots. Miss all 9 in the first half and make 1/2 of your shots in the second half doesn't get it, it equals a loss when you take 20 shots. I hope he can get it together soon for the team's sake. More shots taken by some of our other players would make a win out of a loss.

It is hard to judge because we don’t know how bad the wrist injury is. He might be a streaky shooter or the injury might have an affect on him…we don’t know.

1000% - Iowa's 2 losses have come on absolute dumpster fire performances by Sandfort. Now, I still believe that Payton is one of the top 10 players in the league, but he has not played like one to start this season. If he can turn around and win us a couple of games by shooting lights out that we might not have had a chance in without him (almost assured to happen) then it might even out. But as of right now, Iowa is probably only going to go as far as his shooting.

Yes probably right as no matter what he is told to shoot and will shoot. I wish he would stay in control and take the shots that are there instead of the take whatever shot I want to take no matter how off balance or unopen I am because I'm a shooter and kind of a crazed one. I see as holding the team back from developing continuously better as a TEAM when one shoots crazily poor shots with dismal results. One or two more passes to find an open shooter (more Dix, more of the others) I love it when he's on as any Hawk fan would but if he shoots like this against State we not coming back in the second most likely. But I'm a spectator that sucks at Bball so there's that.

Sandfort seems to start the season just like this

Last year the same process occurred

Then he adjusted and was dependable most of the rest of the season

One would think he has had enough time already this season to adjust

When he and Dix are on, and Harding is dishing the ball around we are a tough out

Tonight would be a good time to start the process of taking good shots and making around 1/2 of em or so. I'm all in!
