The "Haters" and "Apologist" are like political parties

I was going to post this before todays game, but I overslept til 4:20 and had to hustle up and get on the road to IC. It is funny to me that no matter what happens each side will try to "claim victory". Akrum Wadly proves KF doesn't play the best players. See, look at how awesome Iowa was today, all is well with Iowa........and on and on it goes. If Iowa would have lost today, the "haters" would have re doubled the attacks from the last two weeks. As it is, Iowa won, so the "apologist" instantly go on the offensive.

Instead of fighting all the time, can't we just all get along???

Ferentz always does well it seems when things feel like they are about to collapse.

But I think it's just the classic overreaction fr fans. We're not as good as we think we are after a dominat win. We're not as bad as we think after a loss.

I am neither a hater nor an apologist.

I am of the belief that Kurt should just listen to me. Today he did and things went well. You're welcome.

At least we're fighting one way or the other. Cyfans are fighting to give Rhoads at least a couple more years to get his own players. I'm happy with KF if he's willing to let us have a chance to win. I do agree to stop the winner take all with the coach, quarterback etc.. Nothings going to happen until at least the end of the year. Why put ourselves through it.

I enjoyed the win. Up to today I don't think any of us would have predicted today's outcome. It's a win and enjoy the outcome for what it was.

I'm not a big fan of Ferentz and honestly wish he would retire, and I've also been frustrated by the struggles of our offense this year, especially with a team I feel has some good talent. However, I couldn't be happier with the result of today's game; that was the most fun I've had watching an Iowa football game in a long time. That was an absolute butt whipping that showed what this team is capable of doing.

Nothing wrong with fans having differing opinions, but I think just about everyone here wants Iowa to win come Saturday. Even though I'd like to see Ferentz gone I still want my team to play well and win every single Saturday. We all should be able to agree on that.

Kurt decided to play Iowa football today. Shoulda been playing it all year. Better be playing it the rest of the season.

Rodney....er, uh, Dean, there is good insight with what you stated. I think it's a big part of human nature to "prove" oneself, so, voila, here we are.

Let's hope yesterday's performance is what we see from this team to finish out the season. If it is, I think Iowa wins the West. Iowa played a near perfect game, but it was the intensity for 4 quarters I liked. And, for the first time in a long time, we didn't take our foot off the pedal. It was great to see. I hope yesterday can be a salve for our season. The 2014 B1G Champions: The University of Iowa Hawkeyes, has one helluva ring to it.

I am one who wants Kirk gone, this game doesn't change that. But I always want Iowa to win and always love beating NW and their jerk coach. However, I have been consistent that I will back off if he wins a BIG title. I want a conference championship.

Haters for me are the realists and results oriented people. We do not care who the coach is, it is about getting the job done and playing a brand of football Iowans can be proud of.

Have not been ranked in the top 25 for something like 48 weeks. That is reality.

Great win on Saturday that looked like Iowa football. Now was that an anomaly? Hope not.

^^^^^^^^^^^This is fair.....As long as your consistent.:D

And I had a mechanical drawing teacher in high school (does that date me?) who said "Be consistent...... if you are wrong be CONSISTENTLY wrong."

I won't back off if he wins the B1G.

He still won't be top 25 and still cannot consistently recruit the type of players he needs to be able to play the type of game he wants to play, stubbornly believes that games within reach of a field goal by the opponent not are the best way to ensure wins, can't call timeouts, and can't make adjustments during the game.

Winning one game against YATWAP (yet another team without a pulse) doesn't change that. Note that Iowa not only has not beaten a ranked opponent, but hasn't beaten an opponent in the FBS with a winning record since November 29th, 2013. I am sticking with my 7 - 5 prediction.

I don't get too positive after a win, or too negative after a loss....I look at trends more than anything.

After 2012 I was ready for Kirk to move on, but was willing to at least give him another chance (he d served it). I felt he needed 7-8 wins in 2013.....he got that. With the 2014 schedule and returning talent I expected 8-9 wins minimum.

Up until yesterday the season had been a disappointment. The offense was horrible. No consistency. Even more conservative and predictable than usual. No vertical passing game. It looked like the Hawks would limp to 6-7 wins and waste a golden opportunity to contend for a Big 10 title.

Yesterday, the Hawks played the way I thought they would the whole season. My hope is that they will continue to play this way here on out, And NOT revert back into their shell.
