Ya just give kirk and the boys another decade to get all the kinks worked out.I agree. Everyone knows more than the coaches. Goldie is sooo much better than jakey. Goldie will make all our problems go away....
it it will take a lot more than Goldie. Our problems are much deeper.

Thats the least we can do

Maybe those throwing the pies can thrown a football........ Sign em up.
I think you meant revel. Nice try though. A for effort. F for execution.
Why do so many people confuse "CJ is better than Jake" with "we will be really good if CJ played instead of Jake"?
That said, I don't know how the practice was in relation to a full game, but if it was anywhere close to the same and we really only scored 3 points, we are in serious trouble.
Eh I wouldn't ever recommend putting too much stock into what you hear out of a spring game let alone a spring practice like this one. I was there. They did some redzone drills where the offense tried to score from the 10 yard line for awhile. It mostly consisted of runs. The defense won the battle overall, but the offense managed to get over the goal line a few times. CJ did have one overthrow during this drill.
After the redzone drills they backed the offense up a bit and did more of a scrimmage. CJ threw some very nice balls. The tackles were consistently getting beat by Ott and Meier. CJ didn't have a whole lot of time in the pocket. The plays broke down and there would have likely been a couple sacks, but he also would have scrambled for a couple first downs if it were live. That's a big difference between Jake and CJ. Jake often times would dump it off, throw it away, or take the sack. It's also worth noting that it was a pretty windy day. Nothing outrageous or anything, but the wind was definitely having an impact on the deep balls. Having said that, there is absolutely no doubt that CJ has a much stronger arm than Jake. His ball has a noticeable zip on it. He completed a 20 or 30 yard pass on a flag pattern to a TE on the sideline right in front of me that Jake wouldn't have had a chance at completing. If Jake tried to throw it then it would have been picked. CJ launched it and went right over the defenders hands and the TE made a nice diving catch before sliding out of bounds (not sure who the TE was but I think it was but I think it was Duzey or Pekar). It's also worth noting that CJ completed a couple bombs during the 7 on 7 portion that had the crowd ooing and awing.
I will add that Weigers struggled. He has a nice arm, but he made some poor choices with the ball. Tried to force some passes across the middle that he shouldn't have. Struggled to handle the center/QB exchange a couple times and he kept getting tripped while trying to get away from the center. It was hard to tell if it was on him or the guards though. It looked like he was getting stepped on. Overall, I came away pretty concerned about depth at the QB position. If CJ goes down it's trouble. Ryan Boyle was on the sideline and he looks the part. If CJ gets hurt I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a freshman come in and get a shot at being #2 (depending on how early in the season it would be).
