The Cubs

I am and have always been a Cubs fan. I have tried to watch part of the game today, but man they are terrible and really hard to watch. They are not going to be any good this year and that is depressing, but expected.
Here's my question, I think the White Sox are going to be pretty good. Can I (As a life long Cubs fan) watch more Sox games than Cubs games and even root for the Sox a little bit? Or is that extremely frowned upon? The only problem I have watching the Sox is The Hawk, he is a terribly boring announcer to listen too, their broadcasts are dreadful.
Also, can I just forget about being a Cubs fan this year and root for a team like the Rockies? They have some young exciting players that I like, and I have a couple of them on my fantasy team as well.
I am interested to hear everyone's thoughts. I can stick with the Cubs this year and I will watch a very minimal amount of baseball, otherwise I can broaden my likings of teams and watch more baseball this season.

I live in just north of Denver and will go to many Rockies games this year. When they arent playing the cardinals, I will root for them. Very fun to watch and being from Iowa, it's fun to have a pro sports team, that is exciting to watch, this close

Dont understand fans like you. I love my teams no matter how bad they are. And I have put up with some bad teams. (Vikings, Cubs and Celtics).

I agree that they have been brutal to watch so far. But.....it's only 2 games into the season. I have to question how much of a fan you are in the first place if 2 games puts you over your boiling point.

No you haven't been. You're not a cub's fan. A cub's fan believes in his team no matter what, and by the way I don't think the Cubs are going to be as bad as you think they are. I think they're going to be inconsistent, but they will some games. They have a good rotation and a very good bull pen. They don't have the greatest lineup, but it isn't the worst either. Look at the Giants last year. I'm not saying the cubs will win the world series but they'll be competitive.

You can't cheer for another team especially when it's game 2 of the season. Sad.

Yeah, I am a bit worried about offensive consistency, but I think the pitching may be able to hold up.

The top 3 in the rotation will be solid (I think Big Z has finally matured, maybe) and if Wells can keep up his Spring performance and Cashner can be average as a 5 man and get the cubs to the bullpen then I think they'll be in a lot of games. If they can get consistent run support the Cubs will win a lot of those games.

Igothawked = typical bandwagon Cubs fan.

Wants to join when things are going well, wants to b*tch when things are tough.

Of course all teams have these kind of fans to some extent.

HEEEE GONE!!!!!!!! How in the world can you not wanna root for your team and pick the cross town rivals?? Pick the Tigers or something my lord... Ill admit I am a bandwagon Cubs fan but you don't see me rooting for the sox?!?!?! Try picking the Marlins, they need fans.

Yeah and Pujols went 0-5 on opening day...he's probably washed up huh? There is still 160 games to go, step back from the ledge there Igothawked! It's the second game.

I don't think the Cubs will be that good this year. I still love them, and certainly would never root for the Sox. I just don't expect a lot from them this year.

My "second" team would be the Twins, though.
