The Best & Worst of the B1G Week One and Power Poll

This is a total joke right? You can knock the defense for not playing hard but O'brien was 19-23 with 2 receiver drops. What were you expecting, an NCAA record 23-23?

You do realize that Wisconsin has won the last two conference titles? I'll bump this thread up again when Northern Iowa beats Iowa AT Kinnick. Wisconsin isn't better than MSU right now but they certainly aren't 6th. Wisconsin kept its playbook about as vanilla as possible. Michigan doesn't have a quarterback that can throw 5 yards accurately.

Hold on, I can't stop laughing......

1. MSU --not as good of offense but good defense
2. OSU--didn't look good in the first quarter and a half but then got it going.
3. Wisconsin--Suspect defense but the QB went 19-23
4. Nebraska--Regardless of stats Martinez still can't throw the ball
5. Michigan
6. Illinois
7. Northwestern
8. Iowa
9. Purdue
10. Minnesota
11. Indiana
12. Penn state.

Wisconsin's defense struggled. Ball didn't have that great of a game and although OBrien had a good completion percentage he only had 200 yards passing. They didn't look anything like the offense they had last year. It is early but i would put Nebraska ahead of Wisconsin after seeing the first week.

PSU is going to get worse not better. They lost a lot of depth so when injuries start to happen at key positions they aren't going to have a capable backup. In many cases they are playing backups right now. I would have expected the emotion of the first game to carry them over Ohio
They still have talent at PSU, and Ohio is just as good as NIU ... PSU won't be worse than IU or MN

now, 2 years from now, yes, PSU will suck total ***, but not this year

Nebraska will stomp the Badgers.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they end up worse than Minnesota.

Agreed, PSU was playing on pure emotion and couldn't get it done. Take a team used to winning and see what happens when they start losing week after week, I don't think they can handle that mentally. Then throw in the wear and tear of the regular conference season with a depleted roster, once the injuries start adding up, and I don't see PSU winning more than 4 games all season.

Not likely. Wisconsin is still working in a new QB and 6 new coaches (4 on offense). We'll start to gel in the next game or two. O'Brien was highly efficient. He'll probably give us something between Scott Tolzien (who was really good) and Russell Wilson. O'brien had an 83% completion percentage in his very first game with entirely new players. Pretty good.

PSU lost 13 players off of this team. Several of them starters. They weren't world beaters to begin with. Teams can't deal with that kind of personnel losses.

This team is in for a long season.

Good thing for Wisky, OSU can't go to the title game. Wisky won't be back to that game for a decade once OSU is eligible again.

Take your Baggers talk to a board where someone gives a shat...

Right, because we didn't beat OSU in 2010 when they were ranked #1 in the country....oh that's right, we did. We've handed OSU their most losses than any BIG the last decade and they were pretty damn good under Tressel

Or he'll get benched for a walk on, otherwise pretty spot on prediction LOL.

"6. Wisconsin: Transfer quarterbacks are not created equally"

19-23 for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns. Come on.

The Badgers won't as dynamic as they were with Wilson, but they look a lot like 2010's Rose Bowl team under Tolzien. I'd put them above Purdue, followed by a large gap until you get to the other 6 schools.

Wisconsin is averaging 16.33 ppg against uni, oreg st., and utah st. .... yikes, yikes and yikes. Iowa is ave. 17 ppg with a worse offense. Rose Bowl team I think not.
